Can't imagine a cheap foam product is equivalent to the Big Moss.

The BB serves a good purpose, providing great roll for an inexpensive price. It should be used on a hard surface to sit stable. I have a birdie ball downstairs on the basement floor, and a big moss upstairs on the living room floor. I am glad I have the both of them because they both work really well.

Another quality indoor green is truline's big or little murphy. I have the little murphy and love it.

I would agree with your that the big moss is a higher quality putting surface. Although, quality can also be determined by how the ball rolls on the surface of each product. The big moss rolls very well, but so does the birdie ball, just like a professional green on a golf course. Yes it is lightweight and made of a type of foam, but the surface of it is manufactured to be very similar to a real putting surface. In order to get the same size putting surface in a big moss putting green as you would in a birdieball putting green, you most likely would have to pay two to three times as much. Many people don't have that kind of money and opt for a birdie ball. I have a 3x9 big moss that cost about the same as my 4 x 14 birdieball. If I want to really test out my putter for lagging skills I go down stairs to my birdie ball because of its size and quality of ball roll.

Would your Birdie Ball owners say that the material is NOT durable? I can roll the green up and store it but I have dogs and kids. At some point, they’re going to walk on the green and I’m worried that it’s too “fragile” for my family.

If abused it could be damaged,easier then big moss.

Well, itâ€™€™s not a €œ cheap foam product for starters... so while I am sure the Boss is a fine product, your criticism of the Birdie Ball is way off base.

The Birdie ball is easily rolled and stored. While i dont think either of these is intended for constant abuse by kids or dogs, my BB is sufficiently durable

I'm in the process of a build as well and have elected to use trunk liner for the green atop plywood. It's quite fast, 10+ just laid out on my hardwood floors upstairs. Would the addition of a rubber layer help tame it down before attaching to the plywood base? Ideally I'd like it to stimp around 9

I think that would help some, and also if you want to chip onto it.
