I preferred the 45s over the 65s. The shape at address was just more appealing to me, so I never switched. Selfishly, I hope the new irons resemble the 45s more than the 65s, because I'm just about due for a new set of irons this fall and I am a hardcore chugger of the Srixon iron kool aid.

I liked the look of the 745's over the 765's too. The 45's had less offset and a shorter blade length. With the longer blade length, it made the 65's look like it had even more offset difference than what the spec sheets said in reality compared to the 45's.

Seems they went the more forgiving route with the 65's over the 45's, which I noticed as well in the 9(blade) series. 945's appeared that they wouldn't quite offer the forgiveness I needed, but I felt like I could have played the 965's.

I would consider switching if they make the new 7 series with the same offset & blade length of the 965's, just with an added cavity back for more forgiveness.

I agree. If they alternate square/low offset look and round/more offset every release we at least get what we want every other time haha

Agree 100%. Love my 745's and didn't like the 65's at all. A step back imo and i expressed that to Srixon last year at the PGA show.

I know PGA Tour play isn't everything. And, I am HARDLY a tour player, but, I tried to order the 745s at the VERY end of the release cycle. There were none left, so, I got the 765s. I was always really bothered by the fact that nearly NONE of the Srixon tour staffers switched to the 765s. I think the ONLY guy that did was Billy Hurley. I thought that was very telling. I know these guys are nuts about their equipment, but, if they were as good, you'd think guys would have switched.

I don't hate mine, but, I don't have near the lovefest with them that a lot of my friends had with the 45s. Just food for thought....

Ah, yes. Missed that part in my post. Definitely prefer the more square look of the 45's over 65's as well. Thought that the large rounded portion out on the toe, where the scoring lines end, didn't do any favors in the looks department on the 65's either.

You must have missed the blowout sale on the 745's at one of those online sites that happened when the 765's were coming out(there was a thread going on somewhere here at the time about it). I think that new sets were going for $450 or less at that time. i missed out on it too, but was able to find a set at the local shop at almost twice the price. But that's ok, it was still worth it with how much I have enjoyed them.

Eagerly awaiting as my 545 are starting to fall apart. Not really but the badge has come off the 7 and 9 iron. It’s enough to make me consider the one piece 7 series.

He’s my early guess - the 5 series will be hollow construction like the PXGs and TM 790s. Think the U45 but all the way down to PW

I love the way all the Srixons look, but for a toe misser like me, the center COG and weighting of the 965's works best. Really nice golf clubs, all of them. I've always liked the look of the 745 too.

I too prefer the 745. I love the squared look and my miss is on the heel so I prefer the mass there. I am eagerly waiting this release.

Only care about a driving iron release

Hopes: low offset, slightly smaller bulk/sole than u65/45, drop the super light stock shaft, offer hybrid shafts as custom upgrades, offer a 16* nuke model

Probably none of it will happen tho. These 70g stock shafts in driving irons are ridiculous to me

Add a modest v-sole on that driving iron as well!

LOL, I guess so...you play Super Peening Blues in X. Even in your DF 3 iron. You are in the super minority my friend. Personally, I like the stock Miyazaki shaft, I don't really see any problems with it. I do agree though, that they should at least offer a couple of gorilla swinging shafts for their utility irons.

65's hit retail Sept 2016. So 15 months.

I hope we see them after the PGA show and not in September?

Haha listen I hear you man. But 70g in a driving iron is a minority play too? We gotta be closer to 100g if anything.

I’ve read far more posts of guys hating the stock 70 shaft and having to swap it immediately, then those who loved it. Both on wrx and hackers.
