Personally hoping for a lined 2 ball or flow neck mallet.

Personally hoping for a lined 2 ball or flow neck mallet.

The 2 ball line you can do yourself easily if one doesn't come out. Flow neck mallets are kind of rare because most odyssey mallets tend to be face balanced, or small amount of hang. The #9 has it because it's designed for 60* hang, but I don't really consider it a mallet, it's a blade with just a different shape as far as I'm concerned.

It's not really the same, but the slant neck on the Spider Tours is very visually pleasing, and overall the putter is very stable.

The spider tour red with sightline is a good putter, just not a huge fan of TM insert putters.

Me either. Owned it for a month, sold it.

I just don't think you'll be seeing any flow neck mallets out of Odyssey. More of a niche design and Odyssey usually caters to the mass demands out there. I'm not really a putter aficionado, so I don't know any current models off the top of my head other than #9, but that's not really a forgiving mallet.

I'm sure Google can be your friend and direct you to some sources.

Those aren't really flow necks, but it pretty much accomplishes the same thing.

What OP is describing/looking for is more like this:

The top is a tour only 1 of 1 that was custom made for Lee McCoy. The bottom is a Odyssey white hot pro #3, but that's not a mallet.

If you don't like the current insert I'd hold out for next year, but rumor has it that it's only a minor tweak to those metal hinges which is a large departure from the white hot insert feel and performance if you ask me.

Are you more after a mallet with toe hang or just the look of a flow neck?

I love the top pick of a flow neck mallet. I like a simple look to the head. Do you have Lee McCoys email :) Perhaps he would part ways with it.

I currently use a Scotty Del Mar Limited Edition. Love the looks of it just wanted a little less toe hang as I'm going to rock it at a shorter length.

Yeah the Del Mar is just Scotty's take on the #9.

I'd go try those slant neck #7's or Fangs... Yes it's a very different look, but unless you can sneak onto a Callaway tour van and find some flow neck mallets there, I think that's really the best you'll find for now. Check ebay too, maybe you'll get lucky. Maybe you could also pay a custom putter shop some $$ to modify a 2 ball or something that's got an S bend neck to weld on a slant/flow? May end up with something kind of wacky looking though, but I'm sure it's possible.

I saw a flow neck mini floating around..too busy for me. Just not a huge fan of the #7s. The del mar limited edition button back putter blows feels incredible, way better than stock on with the tei3 insert.

Yeah Scotty's feel are top notch, although I will say... Betti's feel really awesome and so do EVNROLL's (when it comes to 100% milled face putters).

I'd highly recommend EVRNOLL, but they only use single bend 75* hosel. I think you're in a pretty tough situation. Have you checked the custom Toulon shop yet? I know you can do a lot of customization there although not sure if there mallet comes with a slant neck or what... or if changing hosel style is even possible.

Good luck in your searches.

Having just tested an EVNROLL ER7 against a Toulon Memphis and OWorks 7, I'd put the feel of the ER7 on the opposite end of the scale from those of any of the other putters mentioned here. Very hard feeling, which was surprising to me considering the milling on the face.

Did you try any other models like ER5, ER6, ER2? I find them to be fairly soft, on par with Scotty. Not too mushy but certainly not click-y.

I'll throw a picture of mine in here for good measure as well

Are you guys Callaway staffers?? I've never seen the slant neck 2-ball in black like this with the WH insert. Seriously, if it comes in lefty, let me know. I like my white ice, but looking for a slightly more "muted" feel, and I also prefer the toe hang that comes with the slant.

No, I bought the ER7 sight unseen when I was doing some testing last month. Nowhere around me to test any of them.

Could be that it's a mallet versus the others. I've done a fair amount of testing with various heads over the years, and this was definitely one of the hardest feeling putters I've hit. I've hit Scotty's and other high end putters too, and I wouldn't compare the feel of the ER7 to those at all. Maybe the other models do though, as you state....I can't speak to those.

Well, everybody is different, feel is subjective. I've tested a decent amount of putters and I'd put the ER models I listed in the "moderately soft" category. Something like my white ice I'd put in the "moderately firm" area. Most firm putter I've rolled to date is a Betti BB1 with their stock dense rubber grip.

Oddly enough though the Queen B8 is pretty soft feeling, reminds me of Scotty feel.

I think Cameron's feel awful, and hard off the face, never liked one.

I am definitely an insert guy, like em softer feeling. I absolutely love the o-works. I had my best putting year ever this season.
