Flattest 3-wood?

Did you start this thread? No, you derailed it completely. Go take a nap.

Let me help you out; "Go take a nap" means to go fornicate. I would have mistaken you for a pervert on that statement alone.

The proper context is "go take a hike".

I couldn't resist.

I'll refrain from posting provided that I am no longer mentioned. Thank-you.

???? are you high? or does 'are you high' mean something grotesque and perverted as well to you?

It’s urban language expressed in a subtle way.

You ever had a girlfriend that said “Let’s go take a nap?”

in this case, you're just dense. he was implying you're off your rocker and perhaps if you went and slept it off, you might come back a better person.

yes, i've heard the expression but, he didn't tell you to go 'netflix and chill' either...

@Obee, don't you play hybrids? are these flat also, if so which do you play

Yes, I do play hybrid all the way up to 7-hybrid. My longest iron is 8-iron! :-)

I play the Adams Tech V4's with Graffaloy ProLaunch Blue HY (hybrid) shafts, x-stiff.

They are 2-flat (the flattest I could get them from Adams back in the day). They are a touch too upright for me, so I choke down a bit, generally.

Back to topic. Obee, how's the new fairway working after a couple of rounds? What was the old fairway and what differences are you seeing with the new one?

So far, loving it. The fact that it fits me better in every way:

  • Looking down at it, the sole is much closer to be "fully-soled" at address, which is a nice look to have after looking down at my previous M2 where either, a) the toe is up off the ground at address, or b) I have to raise my hands and stand much more upright than I am comfortable with.
  • I can really go "down and out" at a full shot, which is my preferred swing. It results in a low(ish), tight draw that is highly reliable for me.
  • The distance on this thing (because I don't have to manipulate my set-up or swing) is easily 10 yards farther in carry. Need to Trackman it with my buddy to confirm, but that's my initial take.
  • In short: WINNER!

For a club fitter you sure are clueless. Because I play 3 woods that have a 57* lie angle instead of 60* I have a hideous swing? Or do you think 3* flat means a club with 54*? 3* flat could really be anything, but as an uneducated (club fitter) you just guess and throw out terribly wrong observations.

Cool. If your previous one was the regular M2, then I agree completely. I found the regular model to be way too upright, to the point that I had to change my setup to very upright and stiff when addressing the ball when I tested it. Changing the setup got the toe back closer to the ground and yielded good results, but it was pretty uncomfortable and a completely different setup than any of my other clubs. I tend to play my clubs at 1 degree flat, so I can't imagine what that must have looked like for you if you play 4 degrees flat.

Obee I feel like we can share clubs! LOL

ive been gaming sonartec ss07 for years because it was flatter and it could be bent (but no one wanted to try around me). so I play all my woods .5" - 1" shorter and I already naturally choke down on my clubs

I am definitely gong try some sort of Callaway Pro fairwaywood now!

this thread was entertaining and informative lol

Lately there’s all these threads about guys who can’t hit 3 woods off the deck and band aid by or encouraged by others to use driving irons, 4 woods, hybrids, lie angle.

Most of the people (wrong) are propagating the issue.

It’s a swing issue not an equipment issue; this is my personal experience and I have fitted others as well.
