2018 Srixon Irons

Do we have any more info on the 2018 line? Do we still think we will hear at PGA show?!

On the 65 v 45 discussion, is it true that the 745s spin LESS? That could be why all the tour staffers stayed in those? In my case, the 765s would theoretically suit me better as I need spin on my irons....

765 spin less than the 965 FWIW

I preferred the 45s over the 65s. The shape at address was just more appealing to me, so I never switched. Selfishly, I hope the new irons resemble the 45s more than the 65s, because I'm just about due for a new set of irons this fall and I am a hardcore chugger of the Srixon iron kool aid.

I liked the look of the 745's over the 765's too. The 45's had less offset and a shorter blade length. With the longer blade length, it made the 65's look like it had even more offset difference than what the spec sheets said in reality compared to the 45's.

Seems they went the more forgiving route with the 65's over the 45's, which I noticed as well in the 9(blade) series. 945's appeared that they wouldn't quite offer the forgiveness I needed, but I felt like I could have played the 965's.

I would consider switching if they make the new 7 series with the same offset & blade length of the 965's, just with an added cavity back for more forgiveness.

Agree 100%. Love my 745's and didn't like the 65's at all. A step back imo and i expressed that to Srixon last year at the PGA show.

Totally agree as well. 745's are amazing (still have them in the bag). 765's were a big step backwards visually with their rounded appearance. Yuck!

I am looking forward to seeing what Srixon comes out with this year, and what their tour pros use on course. I am not surprised if they follow the release cycle of the last two launches though (~late July announcement/release). As much as everyone wants them to release sooner for comparisons, fittings, etc., this is not unusual.

In my opinion, the Callaway Epic driver ruined people's expectations with leaks and releases. There seems to be more "where are the early pictures?", "any news on _____ being released?" than before. I understand this is the Pre-Release forum, just surprised with the amount of "eagerness" behavior that may have been influenced by Callaway marketing. I am not harping on this thread, as I have seen it in the SM7 and Ping Glide 2.0 thread as well.

If anyone remembers, the last two releases (45's and 65's) had multiple back orders and delays. If Srixon can fix the inventory issue, and come out with an iron that does not go backwards in performance...they will have a huge hit on there hands (rounded vs. squared toe argument be damned).

I am curious to see if Cleveland has anything up there sleeves for RTX4 or whatever is next for wedges.

Proud of Srixon for strictly following their release cycle and keeping their lineup extremely efficient/stream lined

3 irons. All can be blended. Playable driving iron.

Just love how they are doing things. Repeating myself here, but if Srixon sees this, if y’all start offering premium hybrid shaft upgrade in your driving iron...you’ll sell a ton more! Atmos Black 9, Diamana Pro white/blue 100. Straight missles

Yep, something with a little more heft than the 70 gram shaft that comes stock would be nice in the driving iron.

Agree it's a marathon not a sprint...they are gaining some traction and as much as I loved the look of 45 series more than 65 series and had the same issue about trying to find a set of 45's and didn't want to play 65's I don't want them to change their releases keep it 2 years...I heard new series will be worth the wait...srixon has been listening

Under construction....

A friend of mine is in the media and has a meeting and demo with Srixon at the PGA show on January 23rd and he believe that they are coming out with new clubs at the show from his communication so far although he hasn't seen any literature, etc. I am hoping they have the full line introduced.....can't wait.

I doubt they will. It makes more sense to me that Srixon will stick with their previous release cycles.
