I feel sometimes Callaway gets trapped into designing game improvement irons around their "look" and they cant go where TM went with the P790s.

However...if you look at a x-tour, x-20 Tour, x-22 Tour...those are closer to the look of the P790s, they just dont have the tech.

Callaway went bigger with the x-24 HOT iron...didnt have a pro version. They could now come out with another series of "X" irons just like the 790s and be just fine.

People went nuts for the x-prototype in 2008...which was lightyears different from anything they had in the product line

Steelheads were pretty good looking and best selling iron for Cally then they go and do this. They look weird and just not good. Really was suprised to see how bad they look. If they kept the steelheads lines another year nobody would have complained.

That is the part that throws me, they have evolved the fit and finish of their irons over the past 5 years and then they go in this direction which appears to be a step backwards. I'll wait for the formal release and photo's to learn more.

Not for me. But this is exactly how Callaway intends to win the iron count again in 2018. They have so many options you are bound to find something you like.

so funny..

I hate the looks of them..yuck, blah, blah

oh wait..you only see the badge/back when they are in the bag but not at address?

Dang them are some ugly irons..

Always slays me!

Not everyone plays blades and musclebacks. However, at least Callaway released the Xforged/APex MBs for this reason.

Majority of golfers, not in GolfWRX land, do not care about the look of the back of the club but want the ball to go far.

Just like the TM m3/m4 options... cater to the majority.

Legit as bad as how the BB irons look.

I generally don't comment on clubs until I've had a chance to handle and hit them. However, these instagram photos do not inspire a lot of excitement in my eyes. We all know Callaway will spell out the technology real soon. I can honestly say, I'm not feeling them. I realize it's unfair to compare this offering to products that are already in the marketplace. But given the overwhelming success of the 790's clean lines, the tech in the Rogue better be a grand slam.

Spoiler Alert...I tested them both and the P790 is the winner on ball speed and lower spin.

Did you go through the whole fitting process on the Rogue to make sure you had the optimum shaft and setup like with your P790’s? Or was the Rogue just stock vs your fitted 790’s?

I hit both Rougue’s and the TM P790 was a clear winner with the same shaft

Sorry, just to be clear, you were fit for the 790’s right? And you then just used the same shaft in Rogue without taking the time to see if that same shaft was in fact optimum in Rogue as well?

Interested to see what the Pro version looks like from address. Do we know the stock shaft offerings (especially the weight)?

Who at Callaway thought that Aqua was a good color scheme? Someone's mom?

I certainly wouldn't game those irons based on "looks"

The aqua is a ladies head. Probably just lighter weight.

Really good. Picture Apex CF16 but with less offset.

Nope. Just look at the drivers. Aqua is the theme color for the range. If my username ended in OPTI and I could find the puke emoji.... I would use it at this point.

Stunned.

"Apex CF16 irons. Are they broke?"

"No."

"Good. Let's give them a horrible name and an 80's colour scheme."

No idea what's going on at Callaway. Those pics look better but it's basically a jacked CF16 with a silly name. Replacing the Steelhead, one of their most successful and consistent irons recently?

The mind boggles.

Callaway definitely made up some ground sticking to products like the X family of irons and woods (no more Diablo, Diablo Edge, Diablo Octane, etc) and then Apex (also a classic) and bringing Big Bertha back. Steelhead was good too. I might be mistaken, but Epic seems like the only real success they've had that hasn't been an X or Bertha model product. But just b/c that happened, doesn't mean they needed to go all in with a random name like Rogue and give it a sh!tty accent color. So yeah...this one is kind of random.

I have the fitting cart heads. The regular rogue iron is not that color. I also have a head with that color. Pretty sure it’s a ladies specific head.

So you expect a "Callaway certified Master club fitter" to provide information still under embargo in violation of his agreement with Callaway just because someone on here stated misinformation?

Wow. That reply was a bit unnecessary. I don’t have much more info than anyone else. Just a box that showed up. No information, nothing explaining technology. These clubs are still under embargo. I should probably just stay completely out of these threads anyway. Holy Smokes.
