Just saw golf channel instagram where Patrick Reed is being interviewed in full Nike attire in front of a Big swoosh flag. This will take some getting used to...

He was a Nike guy previously. If you notice his Sunday clothing choices you'll understand why. He previously played Nike balls but that deal fell apart when Nike wouldn't let him play Tiger's ball.

He reportedly left Nike before because they wouldn't let him wear Sunday Red as well as make him a ball (or let him use Tiger's, I don't remember), so unless that has somehow changed, I would guess this is still a point of contention going forward.

Its been a while since Tiger has seen a Sunday so no conflict there. Haha, easy guys.......just kidding.

 

Nike seems like a natural fit for him. My guess is he has some really mixed bags early in the year and then eventually signs with TM or PXG. Funny he actually said that he needs to QUIT tinkering in order to play better in the majors. Guess that's out the window.

Tiger threw out his back trying (unsuccessfully) to intimidate Reed on the range, so he had to go to the Nike brass to get things done. Sad!

I think it's unlikely that he'll go with TM, seeing as how they've let some of the lower tier guys go to focus on their big dogs. I know Reed has played several Titleist clubs over the years including wedges and long irons. I could see him going that route.

I had heard it was because he didn't like to use the Nike ball and wanted to use the ball Tiger was using (or other ball).

He's not listed on Callaways site any longer, that's a big loss for them, especially with this year being a Ryder Cup year.
