December Golf- How late in the season were you able to play?

Got to play early Sunday morning, Dec. 24th. It was tough. It was cold. It was uncomfortable... but it was worth it. Now we are "hit" with the massive cold, winter snap, so I don't see me playing golf for many, many (maybe even months?) weeks... sad face here...

I went out and played 18 on Thur. Dec 21st. Teed off at around 10:30 at approx. 34 degrees? I thought it was supposed to hit the mid 40s...it never did. The little ponds/lakes were mostly frozen over, so there were no water hazards! I luckily didn't hit any, but my buddy did and it bounced 3 times and made it over...

 

We walked, which is now my prefered method of golfing, and it kept me a little warmer than I would've been in a cart. But damn, it felt cold.

Played on the 29th and 30th. 29th 60*+ temps and yesterday was maybe pushing 40*s. Below freezing now until the 4th. Oh well I guess. This has been a great year for golfing and a terrible one for skiing or any winter sports in general. Fingers crossed we get a lot of snow in the new year!

I last played on December 22nd. I'm getting over a shoulder injury or I would have played on the 23rd and 24th and playing on the 22nd got the shoulder fired up again. Now we are in the deep freeze here.

Very few days in southern NM that are truly unplayable outdoors.

Last round played was DEC 24. It was 48 degrees. Since then we have been in the the most brutal cold stretch Ive ever seen in the DC area that lasted this long. Single digit , teens, 20s and below zero wind chill. Thankfully temps will rebound to 40s and 50s next Tuesday for about 5 days. We have some snow cover but it sHould be gone by next Monday or Tuesday.

Got in the late December round and was holding out hope for a round or two in January. It was -4 today. I think it will be a while. If I want to play, I guess I'll have to lug my clubs on a business trip down to Charleston.... oh wait. They had 6 inches of snow yesterday. The winter is a cruel beast.

We just got nailed with 18" of snow yesterday here in SouthEastern NJ and are in a serious deep freeze like I haven't seen in years. It may be a long time before I can play again. May have to think about flights to Florida.

Don't rememebr anything this severe since 09 if I rememebr correctly? I usually only miss 3 to 4 weekends per winter. Have a feeling we are in for a long winter.

High 30s, wet, no wind.. The carts already had a cover and my golf partner brought a heater..

It might be the best course I've played on Jack's design.. Beautiful scenery by the river, every hole was different with lot of elevations..

In the Panhandle of Texas (Lubbock), golf never stops. Sure u have I pick your days. Too cold this last weekend to play but next 2 days highs will be in the 70's.

 

Then another cold front Friday but back in the 70's on Sunday.
