Guys, the lofts and lengths are just a tad bit different between the Callaway and Titleist/Mizuno's you are talking about.

Don't get me wrong the X-Forged look sweet, but I am a Mizuno Iron/Wedge guy.

Ive had almost every Mizuno MP iron out in the past 15 years. Mizuno slappy here but these blew the MP18 series out of the water in every category possible.

So you're saying forged is much better than mizuno, does that include price

I think the 2013 X Forged is better looking than the new version, which is not a knock. The new X Forged are excellent, it's just that the 2013 design is legendary, one of the best ever from any clubmaker. The new Callaway MB looks nice. In my tryouts, the edge went to Mizuno due to the blending possibilities. I really like the Fli-Hi for long irons. I found the MP18 with Modus 120 shafts to be a fantastic combo.

... I was quite interested in these and I do not need zero offset. Progressive offset is perfect for my eye and a little is actually welcome in my long irons. But Cally using obvious offset in the 2018 X Forged short irons is a game changer for me. Love the look and feel but short iron offset is a deal breaker. I know it is almost standard in Japanese irons and even Mizuno has done this with some of their irons but have to feel the majority of better players do not want offset in their short irons.

I welcome the offset - for me adds some spin and height in these and i need both.

I tried to like the X-Forged, but they did nothing for me. No real gains over my Apex Pro 16's, but man do they look pretty! I guess I just saved myself some money.

+1 They did not kick my 16' Apex Pros out of my bag. Nice clubs but spin to much for me and the feel was a not what I was looking for. Did not test different shafts so not sure if that would make a difference. Saved some money..... Though this is WRX and you never know =)

I had better numbers with the X Forged, thought they felt better,

Traded the Apex Pro 16's, and ordered the X Forged. These irons checked all the boxes,

Very happy with deal I got on the trade through Callaway Golf.

Let me preface what i’m About to say With I really like the X-forged. That said i’m just have an affinity towards MB’s.

Yesterday I was at the local shop just talking with 2 fitters. 1 guy was being fit and they other guy was looking at some numbers as I hit some irons (new Apex MB, Bridgestone Tour X-B). The ball speed numbers were way down compared to the TM 790 and 770’s. Averaged about 5 or 6 mph.

Actually, the specs on offset is higher in the 790's than the X - Forged.

In fact, the offset looks to be less than the entire 700 series of irons.

you are comparing a 6 iron to 7 iron... the 790 have some pretty strong lofts

Furthermore, you are comparing a GI/ distance/performance iron versus a forged players CB.

Just hit the 7-iron over the weekend with Project X LZ 6.0. These jumped to the top of the wish list for sure...forgiving, good flight, great feel.
