What's wrong with the trees at Torrey? Looks like a cheap muni at times... (I am referring to the course Phil is playing today)

Unfortunately a lot of the Torrey Pines were lost/removed during the North course remodel due to bark beetles who were infesting the trees. Both courses are in excellent shape and greens are rolling well based on yesterday's Pro-Am round.

Bark beetles... we just found Niall Horan, Rory and Paige Spiranac band name!

To be fair, it is a cheap muni for San Diego residents.

Yup. When I lived in San Diego I could play the North Course for $50 on a Saturday. I think the South Course was $80.

Which are the best courses in San Diego?

Rams Hill.

What do ya know?! Rahm missed another putt and blamed it on the green.

What's up with Hoffman's follow through? That's typically the type of follow through you'd have if you're trying to flight the ball low. But it's his follow through 100% of the time.

I don't know why, but it annoys the s*** out of me.

Love the Hoff's swing. One of my favorites but I don't know why he does that with his irons. I do that with my irons most of the time and I don't know why either.

TW is not going to contend, let alone win, until he can learn to score on par fives again...my memory may be wrong, but I recall him crushing par 5s during his prime...it seems that for the past 5 years (injured, i know), he can't seem to make the easy 4s that all the other bombers are.

Today was no different...two pars, a bogey and a birdie. Stuck in neutral.

I'll never forget him draining two eagles on the back nine at Torrey on Saturday at the Open! Most riveting tournament I've ever watched...and one of the few I watched pretty much for all four days.

In summer I’d walk north at twilight for 26 bucks. Always finished.

First real tournament playing in a year. Not played even a semi full schedule since 2015. I think it might take a little time to get back to competitive level. He didn't sink a putt of any length today and still shot even par.

Yup, thats the game.

Needs work in every part of his game to make that happen.

But, at least the speed/distance is there. I think everybody is surprised about that. If it wasnt, hed have no shot at that type of game.
