Really cool 15min-ish interview with Tony Finau talking about his new bag of Ping clubs:

 

 

Driver: Ping G400 MAX - he said he was hitting it 8-10yd longer than the G driver he was using before. Said he switched because Daniel Summerhays let him use his and he asked Ping for one. They said they had already sent him one 2 weeks ago. It was in his sons room. Carry distance at sea level is 300-305. Arizona is 312-315. 2200 to 2700 spin is his target range. He said his stock swing is around 75%. 85g X ACCRA shaft. Fairly even stiffness through the shaft.

 

Looks like he has a new bag now to replace that duct taped Nike bag now too

One of my favorite players...everything I have read tells me he is super nice down to earth guy. Seems to fit perfect with Ping. I look forward to trying the 400...I take lessons from Andrew Rice and he is all in on Ping staff.

Pics from this week show some Ping wedges in his bag, of course could just be testing them out.

 

I think thats personally something Ping has always been very underrated for. I love their wedges, the grinds are all very playable with tons of options (could still use options over 60*, but thats neither here nor there).

Does anyone know what Tony's 5 iron length? I know he is 6'4". It truly looks like he plays clubs -1/2 off standard. His legs are so bent at set up, hands so low and extremely close to him at set up and impact. I would be shocked if he is playing anything at or above standard length irons.
