I completely understand hypebeast items. The Supreme stuff is a whole different level of stupidity. As an ex sneaker-ho, I will NEVER understand the prices that Supreme and Supreme collabs bring. As an avid Ultraboost wearer, I feel the same way about Yeezy's. But like anything, if people will buy, the company's will continue to release items in "limited quanities".

 

For sure. I compare these Scotty releases to a Supreme drop. Limited quantity. Fast sell out times. Marked up resell prices. Higher than normal retail prices to begin with. Etc, etc.

 

I mean, I also didn't feel like paying $80 for a SC hoodie. But if I really wanted it, I'd just justify it by saying "Well the Bog Logo hoodies retail for $159..."

 

I agree. the thing that gets me with the scotty limited release gear (not talking putters), is that there really isnt that much profit to be made to seem worth it to me.

 

Example- blade putter cover- $90 with shipping then people re-sell for $100-$125 shipped...

 

The lone example I see turning a huge profit are the golf bags he releases. Those are a whole nother story..

 

The stand bags are where the most money is made flipping i would say -- i buy the covers and hold on to them for a neat little collection. I've bought 2 standbags -- 1 i flipped to cover the cost of the other but they can easily be sold for 2x what you pay if not more.

I am new to the cameron club so how much are the head covers directly through the Scotty website, assuming you are lucky to get one? Is there an easy way to tell if one is a fake on E-Bay?

doubt it. Tiger never gamed any fancy covers IIRC.

What do headcovers end up costing after shipping? Going rate on the secondary market usually seems to be about $125. How much profit is in that? (I'm asking not to flip, but to understand how much I'd be spending if I join up!)

up to you. there's quite a few releases with a lot of good stuff. shirts, pivot tools, dozen of Pro V1/V1x balls, hats, towels and of course covers. sometimes a stand and staff bag or two get releases throughout the year. although you really need to be quick to snag things, most of the time, it's not hard. i think the welcome kit alone is worth the price.

it may be next week being we didn't get a sneak peak (although years ago we used to never get sneak peaks, kinda miss those days). next week is Mardi Gras anyways so it may be next week.

normally covers are about $76. shipping has been no less than $13.xx for me via ground. so with tax it can roughly be around $90-95.

Perfectly said....if you like his headcovers, like to collect or enjoy the chase its worth it, I totally agree that the welcome kit itself is worth the membership fee. I joined a little less than a year ago and have not regretted it

With shipping the putter covers usually cost me around $95. I don't think there is much money to be made flipping them, at least not anymore.

Still waiting for a “supreme bag” I know at least 20 putterho’s that would pre-order regardless of price. (I did see someone had made by a custom bag company like those that make the non-OEM staff bags seen on tour. But a Supreme/Nike collar on a golf bag, I’m in...with headcovers?!?! Forget about it! Sold!

not necessarily. long before the "sneak peaks" we got no sneak peak. they just dropped on the website and it was a mad dash if you didn't have the site up (still is). so either an early morning sneak peak or no sneak peak and the release. i would expect it today but it's not given and you never know.

Grabbed the towel and the caution putter head cover. HATED the Mardi Gras cover. I hope St. Patricks days is better this year. Hated that one last year.

Getting a towel is one of my goals this year, but I just can't do it with those colors/that design.

 

And I plan on getting a bag at some point, but I have no use for a staff bag (nor $850).
