It's really interesting to see so many of the power players going lighter and lighter in shafts. A lot of 60's in the driver and 80's in the 3 woods. Not a lot of guys using 90 and 100 gram fairway shafts anymore. Most are even using 90 grammers in the hybrids and driving irons.

Pretty different characteristics between T-MB and AP2.

 

Launch, spin, workability, feel, offset, descent angle - and because of how the launch-spin combine, potentially how they might gap with the rest of his set. There’s the option to tweak loft for gapping but then that again further impacts launch and spin either for or further against what characteristics he’s after.

Looks like he is going back to the Super Stroke grip he used last year. I thought I noticed he was using a different putter grip during the Hawaii run.

 

I saw him at the PGA last year practicing and he had 2 different putters (both flow neck X5's.) One had the Super Stroke and the other had the black Dancing Cameron cord. Might be different stampings on each? I never noticed the toe stamp or his initials before. Not sure but I definitely saw him with at least 2 versions of the same putter. It did look like he went away from the SS in Hawaii...hard to believe he'd be looking for a different feel after the year he had, lol.

Just get the steel grey finish in the SM6, or the brushed option on the SM7. Colour wise not far off a raw effect, don't have to worry about them getting beat up and look way sharper. Always used to play the raw vokeys and they go horrid after a while, can't just go in a tour van and get a fresh raw wedge every few months.

Disagree. Abchrome wedge looks terrible in just weeks if practiced with everyday. Raw looks new forever if you want. Just soak in clr for a few minutes and wipe clean.

Raw will be available through wedgeworks in a few months, but yes will likely be the higher price point

??? Having them look nasty and beat up is part of the charm of raw wedges. But more importantly, I don't want a finish on them. My WedgeWorks AD Sixty has the brushed finish and while it looks nice, it's no substitute for raw.

I think I'll just pick up the jet black finish, try them for a bit, if I don't love it I'll just slap a little naval jelly on them and use steel wool. I've read that does a good job removing the black finish cleanly

Best from 120 - 80 yards in the game? I have never seen a guy almost hole or hole that many from that distance! Pretty sick to be that dialed in!

Agree completely. Would be awesome if they would release videos of them going through that process. Would give amateurs a better appreciation for how precise they do or don’t get with certain clubs.

That's exactly it, had the K ground at the heel and toe too I believe. Watch the Mark Crossfield WITB video they made around the masters time, did one on speith too
