DG x-100's

Recommended Posts

I have a swing speed of 84-87mph with my 7 iron and hit it approximatley 160-165 yards.

my driver swing speed is around 107-112mph and carries around 260-270 yards

I play at a 3 handicap and am looking to get into some new irons.

I have an aggressive load at the top of my backswing but try to keep it smooth the rest of the way.

I have played many iron shafts in the past but have never really fell in love with any.

I currently use Nippon Modus 125x

Do you think that DG x100's would be too stiff for me?

Thanks for any and all feedback.

If u dont like your modus 125x u wont like x100. Modus 125x are x100 suped up. Theyre smoother better feeling and more stable. Theyre the nippon equivalent to x100s.

Modus 125x spin slightly less but its negligable.

Do yoi not like yours if so what about them because u definetly wont like x100 then...but if you like them but just want a change then thats a diff story

If you can recall the shafts you've played in the past then we can maybe establish a pattern with what you have not liked. It could be that everything you've tried happens to fall into a similar profile category.

No, DGX100 will not be too stiff with that SS. I swing considerably slower and use DGS300s with no problem.

Stiffness shouldn't worry you. Shaft weight should. And you're already used to the 125.

Re-shaft 1 club, say an 8 iron, and try that for a few sessions.

We have about the same driver SS, in the irons however I am a bit faster (93-96), I have an aggressive transition as well, I have KBS C-Tapers in my TA Protos and they work amazingly well, now that I am all Ping, I have the PX 6.5 in the iBlades, the difference to me is that the PX are a bit higher launch and a bit more spin, distance is about the same (give or take a yard), like you I've played many different shafts, (regular and Tour Issue X100s, C-Tapers, PX 6.5 and 7.0 to mention a few) the X100s were (for me) a bit too spinny and launched a bit higher as well, still a great shaft though, I tried the Tour Issue X100s and they were much improved, still I prefer the C-Tapers or the PX 6.5, like mentioned above, re-shaft one club with the shaft that you think might fit you best (or get fitted) and try it out, good luck...

When you say suped up do you mean more stout or that you think it's a better version of the x100s? Just got new irons with Modus 105s and surprised how stable they felt being so light. I currently have the S300s in my old irons was just going to put them in the new irons but wow... I think the 125x (maybe soft stepped) would be amazing.

Better version. Theyre much smoother more stable. Better feeling. Definetly not more stout but not loose either.

If u like X100s ull love 125.

I was fit into TI X100s. They didnt have Modus 125X to try. They had Nippon SPB in X and the modus 120 and 130.

Theyre in between an X100 and a SPB if youve ever hit one. Imagine the 2 had a baby. Its x100 performanxe with Nippon feel. The SPB are counterbalanced i found compared to rhe 125 and X100s.

I bought the 125 in X blind from reading reviews and i will say i love em. Everything about x100 but better

Hey guys, didn't want to start a new thread, but I've got a quick iron shaft question.

I currently play s300s. I recently swung some drivers on an indoor launch monitor with an average SS of 107 mph. It was straight out of the car, no warmup, and indoors, so I think that was on the low end of where I'd be at with a full warmup, stretched out, etc. I'm not sure what my 6- or 7-iron SS is, however, for reference, I carry my 9-iron about 150 and 7-iron about 175.

Last summer I had an extra 4-iron shafted with a soft-stepped x100. I honestly didn't notice much difference in weight or feel, but felt like the ball flight was a little tighter. I typically miss left and this was just a gentle draw every time, with a very similar trajectory. My question is, should I be playing x100 in all my clubs? If yes, should I go soft-stepped for a little bit of an in between feel? What are your thoughts?
