I was born in the early 80s so those shows are among my all-time favorites. I used to make my mom tape CHiPs reruns so I could watch when I got home from preschool.

CPG is based on a real dude I played golf with in school. And if you knew the guy, it’s even funnier. Didn’t know this was the case until a few months ago. Then it all made sense. Brilliant.

Absolutely. I was a club pro (PGA Apprentice)in the 80s for five years and knew so many people that resembled parts of his story. They're all dead or in rehab now..

This is hilarious, real life, right out of CPG. I get an email from my old club about renewing my membership, which now that they dumped the low end membership, it's $1850 for the year (plus green's fees,range balls, everything... $1850 just gets you access to the course):

 

"To enhance your renewal we plan to offer you $ 20 dollars worth of range balls and offer you 10 % above cost of anything in the golf shop until April 24th

 

Wow, 2 buckets of balls, where do I sign up!!?!
