The one thing I would change at the Masters.

Simple - allow some visitor tee times at some times so that they give something to the average golfer. They could ballot it like St.Andrews. Price could be high’ish (e.g. Pebble Beach territory). They could regulate it, a couple of tee times a day for a few weeks of the yesr. It is not as if the course is overplayed

As keen, ardent fans of a sport many dream of playing but there’s no hope.

I know it’s their club, their money but golf is a sport for all and the reverence the average golfer has for their place and the support they give the tournament adds to what the members pay for.

LOL, no.

No you wouldn’t want any opportunity to ever play ANGC - that’s just weird

Of course, I would if I qualified for the Masters, volunteered and got to play that way or was a member or guest of same. Means nothing, if not earned, and they don't want chuckleheads like us running around their grounds.

If Kate Hudson ever runs her bedroom like a lemonade stand, I'm losing interest fast. You enjoy Alyssa Milano, though, grounds always open.

I can't decide whether I'd change the corny music or allow announcers to use the word fans or gallery instead of patrons or interview someone with the cujones to admit that Clifford Roberts was a disgraceful human being.

The AGNC only seems to be interested in discussion one side of their history.

I notice the ANGC seems to rub you the wrong way. Did your folks make you wear a green jacket as a kid, call you Hootie - or something?

Nah....none of that. But "patrons"??? Come on!

What is this, the Metropolitan Opera?

I like the Masters. I've watched it every year since 1964.

But all that sanctimonious baloney wears thin after a while.

The music. The Patrons. green jackets. Butler Cabin. "A tradition like no other."

Gimme a break!

I gotta agree, that background music makes me feel like I'm at a wake.

Hire Coore/Crenshaw to restore the course to something Mackenzie would actually be proud of again

:ban: :bigwhack: :diablo:

Worst post ever.

It's actually a great post that has a ton of truth to it. People love the course because it's Augusta and the Mastera, which is great, but don't realize that the lines that Mackenzie designed this course around are just basically gone.

Here's one thing I would change. I would significantly lower the 13th tee, meaning the players can't get the elevation required to cut off the corner and play it driver, 9 iron. Naturally ANGC are loooking to lengthen it, but there's really no need if they just reduced the elevation of the tee.

Not sure if anyone posted this, but here's an interesting article on some proposed changes.

I was going to say, stop selling the cheese-pimento sandwiches. They really are terrible.

I don't even know for sure what "pimento cheese" actually is. It seems more like a condiment than anything.

I've tried em. I'm with you on this.

You two must not be from the South. Pimento cheese is a staple in the region and is a fan favorite at the Masters.

As for what it actually is, grated cheese mixed with mayonnaise (the real stuff, not salad dressing), and pimentos.

That's OK with me. I don't worship at the feet of Mackenzie. He was a great designer, but that's it.

I love pimento cheese sandwiches and get one every time I go to the Masters.

LOL, yes he was a great designer - what other aspects of his life are you making a point not to appreciate? Makes no sense.

After much reflection, I regret my earlier comments about pimento cheese sandwiches.

I still haven't had a good one, but I do feel that I should give a well-made one a try.

Who knows what kind of pimento cheese was in the one I last had, about 40 years ago

at the age of 6.

I have no idea what you are talking about. What does "other aspects of his life" have to do with anything.
