How are you starting your season?

I don't think I've ever felt more settled going into a season. I'm totally happy with my clubs, and I don't have any questions or doubts about technique anymore. I'm supposed to attend a week-long golf school the week after next, and I think I'll just tell the instructors to leave me alone. I don't want them putting any junk into my head. My swing is my swing.

I am starting this season with the same clubs I had last season. :-)

Me too! I just have one more baby than i had last year. So this year from a golf perspective....not good

I have one new grandbaby to start this season, and another one coming in August. As much as the Mrs wants to travel to see them it almost as impactful as one of your own.

They even want to have a reveal party on Masters weekend.

They can put it on YouTube so you can see the reveal later.

That even got a chuckle out of the Mrs.

In my first official round of the year during a trip to Los Angeles, I got my first ace in 31 years of playing golf. I’ve also played a few rounds in Michigan during a couple of warm spells, and have played well. I also hit a 3 wood 302 yards yesterday if you believe the probably not at all reliable devices at the golf dome, so I expect to be playing my way onto the Tour by the end of the year.

Came back recently from a 7 month layoff due to severe tendonitis in my right hand and wrist. Been easing back in. Game really started to cone around last round. Got some new irons hitting the course for Sunday. I'm excited. I feel like I'll be back where I was from the injury soon.

More <censored> snow this morning but only infrequent flurries and not settling. Sod's law as tomorrow's round is at Rye Hill which means higher ground. Luckily 'high' is a relative term in the Cotswolds but still - I'll have to confirm with them if they are open tomorrow.

This has been a <censored> <censored> winter and I'm stick of it. In an act of defiance I planted some tomato seeds this morning.

At least the sun is coming out now :-/

Very similar. Only played 5 rounds in 2017 due to back issues. Thought I might be done for good and completely stopped swinging for 6 months. Randomly went to the range with a buddy and was pain free swinging. Not the distance I remember but flight and direction was spot on. I've played 3 rounds this month after taking time on the range before transitioning to the course. Shot 75, 79, and 75 which is where I was at before. Funny thing is I feel like I have more room to improve once I dial in distance again. I ordered new irons as well...hit the Rogue Pros and couldn't say no. I've had my S56's since they released so I guess I'm wayyyyy past due by WRX standards. I'm still making sure to ease back into it and avoid the back issues I had.

Yeah, here in Cali we can work on the game through the winter. Beginning of last year I dedicated myself to finally starting really hitting the driver. That was much improved all of last year. Beginning this season I'm finally working to end my over-the-top move. Over the past 1.5 years I've gone from shooting mid 90s to low 80s so that's really neat. I really think I'll shoot one or more rounds in the 70s this year.

For the past month I've been trying to get my swing speed up: Drive for Dough, Drive 400, and SuperSpeed. I played yesterday and had one of my best days off the tee ever. Three drives over 300, which is quite a feat for me in Western Washington. I really struggled with distances on my irons which can be expected. I'm planning on working on mechanics and swing speed through April and then really start working irons and wedges.

Not enough grease for this swing. It was windy sat and I went ahead and played nine. I had a blast except for a few holes. But got some pars, that was good. The driver was off, really bad, as I am experimenting right now trying to get the clubs in order, and that may take awhile. I was killing my 7 wood, the F7, easily the best club in the bag. The putter was rocking as well. Started ripping the F7 3-4 wood, low and hot. Could it be my best year, not sure yet.

Bag is in overhaul mode

I'm fortunate to be able to play year-round, but I can only post scores between mid March - Mid November. But I still get out about once a week during the off season. I actually play better in the winter. I like cold weather, and the frozen ground gives me Tour level roll off the tee. Bomb some huge numbers. Plus slow greens. I'm one of the few that loves slow greens. Can really give it a wack and not be afraid of going 5 feet past.

I've already played 12 full founds in 2018. Not including 9 holes, or par 3 courses.

I've started taking lessons for the first time since I started golfing. my inconstancies were driving me crazy. once I have my new swing feeling good i'll be heading to TXG for an iron fitting and purchase, maybe a driver too. Hoping to break 80 this year, got down to 82 a few times last year. Playing my first round of the year in "springlike" conditions... should be interesting.

doing ok so far i'd say -- B grade for now. scoring has been good, just missing greens.

i'm holing a lot of putts right now, and once the short irons and wedges come around that should be very good. rounds of 75, 72, 77 off tips in march (no roll anywhere) is very solid for me. averaging 3.67 birdies per round so far -- so, once spring and drier fairways come, it should be more.

bag is honestly set - never thought i'd say that.

finally got my swing changes in tune and they've made me consistent throughout the bag with my front/back distances and dispersion is great. driver swing has been solid and distances have been as long as i have ever been - even with no roll. working out all winter has already produced some better results -- i don't have to swing as hard to get the same distance; and when i lean on it, i'm actually getting a bit more.

very happy - confidence is everything!

Haven't played since end of October. Did a lot of range work when the weather was not too awful. All mats up here in the North Wet. Played twice this month, both the same course. Striking balls better, but ESC'd both rounds for 91........

Driving and irons were nice, the putter has been great. Anything else I haven't practiced was pure, 100% sheit.

Sand isn't usually an issue for me, I always get out okay. On the tough par 5 14th, with water all around and twice crossing the fairway. I hit two great three woods to lie two in the greenside bunker. After 4 attempts to get out of the sand, I bladed the 5th 150 yards into oblivion.....

Time to get the big scores off the card. Index is up to 12.5 from a record low of 8.8 two or so seasons ago.

Follow up... Haven't touched a club in four months. Drove 6 hours down to Pinehurst and arrived with just enough time to hit maybe a half dozen balls on the range and a few putts before teeing off. Birdied the first hole with a perfect drive, PW to 18 feet and a putt right in the jar. So, yeah, it's going to be a good year.
