Dead Kennedys LA 1984

The Replacements around 1988

Social Distortion 88ish

The Who 1996 I think, (Quadrophenia tour with many instruments onstage. Seemed like a Broadway Production. Played Quad album to a tee so was kinda weird. Didn't feel like I saw a true live show)

The Who 2000 with Entwistle. The Who 2002 few months after Entwistle died. The 2000 show in Dallas was very good!

Psychedelic Furs mid 80s

Sex Pistols at Universal Studios in 96. Not sure how I really felt about that show.

R.E.M. around 89 or 90. I was always a on the fence fan because I found Michael Stipe nauseating. But this was probably the best live show I've seen. Was very impressed.

Probably some that escape my memory (as well as opening acts) but I always felt very uneasy in crowds so ended up passing on a lot of shows.

Bush/Cowboy Mouth - in Middle School

Perpetual Groove - played a small bar near me in college, that was awesome

Widespread Panic - loved these concerts from 1999 - 2003

Kiss/Ted Nugent - Nugent fired an arrow into a speaker, that was cool

Aerosmith - Disappointing

Hank Williams Jr (Don't remember this one at all)

Queens of the Stone Age - Vegas

Those are all I can remember

Widespread!!!!!

After watching a WP concert on tv a few years ago I can't believe I never really heard of this band all these years. Like a perfect combination of Allman Bros and Grateful Dead.

Yeah, classic rock station WLUP in Chicago is no more. It becomes a Christian rock station tomorrow I believe. I grew up with The Loop.

Way too many to list, my first....Clash of the Titans at Alpine Valley in 89 or 90, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, opening act Alice In Chains. I was 14 and scared for a minute or two☠

Other memorable shows-

DMB and Neil Young - Tinley Park, mid to late 90's

PJ20 in 2011 at Alpine Valley, never got to see Soundgarden live, but Cornell coming on stage and doing some Temple of the Dog stuff and Stardog Champion

Tool to open the Resch Center in Green Bay in 2002, Maynard is interesting

Audioslave at Lollapalooza at Marcus Amphitheatre, the only other time I got the privilege to see Cornell, early 2000's

RHCP and Foo Fighters at Marcus Amphitheatre 2000ish

STP opening for Megadeth in 93 at the Riverside Theatre

So many more, concert going has tapered off quite a bit, last show was a good one Royal Blood opening up for QOTSA at the Rave, ran into some good friends who coincidentally I was at my first show noted above and several of the others listed....going to see PJ at Wrigley in August!

Couple of more came to mind...

Ozzy Osbourne - I believe it was the Blizzard of Ozz tour. Hung an elevationally challenged guy out over the crowd.

Peter Frampton a couple of years ago at a small venue. He's better than ever. Great guy. His Fingerprints album won a Grammy is way under the masses radar. Get a chance, take the wife and kids.

Small venues like bars and theatres:

REM; ‘84, Replacements ‘89(?), Red Hot Chili Peppers in ‘85 (opened for Burning Spear) then saw them in a bar in ‘87. Warren Zevon at a bar. The Ramones in ‘87. Psychic TV same time period. Grateful Dead in ‘81, Jefferson Starship ‘81, The Kinks ‘81 at Stanley Theatre in PGH. Janes addiction in ‘91 and then in ‘14 with the original lineup. Primus opened for JA in ‘91 then saw them again last summer. Neil Young acoustic at Red Rocks in ‘92. Jonathan Richman a few times, Alex chiton as well.

Bigger venues: Jethro Tull, U2, Neil Young and Crazy Horse and NY and his new band last year. Pearl Jam in smaller arena (8000), James Taylor, REM, Elton John, Sting, P-Funk All Stars, Styx, Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, Paul Simon. The police in ‘83 and Kansas was my first concert in ‘78/9. Grateful Dead again.

Some randoms: the Monkees on their 25th reunion. Loverboy, Quiet Riot, Billy Idol, Noghtranger, survivor.

That’s off the top of my head, lots more I am sure are rattling around in there.

I've been to quite a few shows but my favorites were Page and Plant twice for their No Quarter tour, the Beastie Boys with Tribe Called Quest on the Hello Nasty tour and anytime I got to see the Deftones at Saltair in Salt Lake City.

Dan Rather is interviewing Robert Plant tomorrow night at 9ET on The Big Interview.

Been to a few mostly while I was younger quite a varied list of bands and genres I won't count the list of varied varieties of techno DJ's I have seen spin over the years at clubs/raves etc.

Non Country

Pink Floyd Oakland Coliseum mid 90's best show I have ever been too.

Grateful Dead numerous times all at Shoreline Amphitheater musically not the best shows but so fun in their own right and a totally different world.

Primus New Years Eve somewhere in a smoke filled club in Berkeley Green Day was there one year early in their history

Nine Inch Nails, Perfect Circle opened for them. PHX AZ

Smashing Pumpkins Mesa AZ their 1st to last show before they broke up

Bruce Horsby somewhere in San Diego County

Van Halen early 90's Shoreline Amphitheater

G Love and special sauce plus Limp Bizkit buddy won the MGD blind date concert trip so it was a free trip to Chicago. concert was MEH

Country most in the mid-late 90's. Dudes if you are single I highly suggest going to country concerts and sitting out in general admission or if there is a lawn type area. Some of my best days as a single dude were at country shows country chicks FTW.

Chris Ledoux the GOAT of cowboy singers, Laramie Wyoming

Most of the rest at Shoreline Amphitheater some in Wyo a few more at different rodeos around Northern CA or Reno

Garth Brooks

Clay Walker

George Strait multiple times

Joe Diffie

Allan Jackson

Tim McGraw

Brooks and Dunn

Mark Chestnut

Aaron Tippin

Clint Black

Sammy Kershaw

Dwight Yokam

Alabama

Charlie Daniels

Diamond Rio

Most of the 2000's to 2010 was the techno scene

More recently since country has sucked for a decade + went to see Chris Stapleton with Brothers Osborne and it was a fantastic show

I'm sure there is more that I am forgetting or smaller local shows etc

Wait, the Dead were not the best musically? I know that sometimes when they go off on their space jams it can be a little here or there, but that is the nature of improvisation, and overall they were some of the best musicians in their era. Percussion - Hart and Kreutzman, amazing (sure, not Neil Pert or Steve Gadd, but then who is). Bass - Phil Lesh, don't even argue. Guitars - Wier and Garcia, ummm yeah, say no more.

Spent way too much $$ on concerts in my life, though I never went to any festival shows... I'll try to organize them... some were on the same set but I'll just list them.

Rolling Stones, Akron Rubber Bowl 1972. The warm up act was Stevie Wonder (at least HE wasn't trashed).

Seals and Crofts, Norfolk Scope 1975.

Johnny Cash, Ohio State Fair 1968, I think.

Greg Allmän, Del Mar Fairgrounds 1988

Beach Boys, 32nd St. Naval Station, 1989, again at Riverbend 2016

Cher Farewell Tour, Nutter Center 2003 (a gift for my wife, I figured I would enjoy it more than a Barry Manilow concert).

Not much of a concert goer, usually go for the intimate local venues.
