OBAN CT-115 Iron shafts......worth the $75 bucks a pop?

Install sensicore inserts into then...20 bucks will give you an extra 8g or whatever in each shaft.

Interesting idea but you would need to jam 2 down in each one. They are just under 4 grams each. I’ve been using them for many years. They do work.

I also play on the coast, and I've heard stories of rusty forming in shafts

More of an issue With pro softs. They are solid and don’t allow air circulation if the shafts get damp inside. The Sensicores have essentially a straw down the middle of them specifically to allow air movement and dissipate moisture.

This is incorrect. Pro soft are closed cell foam on the exterior and do not hold moisture. Sensicore absolutely can and have rusted shafts out from moisture.

Cells themselves might not hold moisture, but moisture might collect on the surface of the inserts.

Anyways, I had shafts with rust on them without inserts so it is what it is. It doesn't affect anything since it's just a surface rust. Now, if you shower with your clubs and you start getting flakes of rust falling out, that's different hahaha

Here's Shimada 115, 5-iron I already had up on my classified...

I will check 4-iron when I get home, but looks like step pattern is quite different, especially over 3 first steps?

1st step 8" from the tip

2 9 1/2"

3 10 7/8"

4 12 1/4"

5 13 5/8"

6 15 1/8"

7 16 1/2"

8 17 7/8"

9 19 1/4"

10 21 1/4"

11 23 7/8"

12 27 1/8"

Yea, the first three steps (closest to head) are really close to each other. What raw shaft length are you using? My 4-iron is X soft stepped, so the 39" raw length. Not tipped at all (tapered). M

One other thing to keep in mind is that I aligned my ruler with my club length ruler, so the distances I posted are based off the club sitting in the address position, which would be 3+ inches more than your measurements.

I have played two rounds with my CT-115 in stiff flex in 718 AP2s. Was fitted by an outstanding fitter in Bay Area for these shafts and he built the clubs. Terrific feeling shaft - firm but very smooth - feels like no other iron shaft to me. Best description I can generate is for my CT-115 in stiff flex is PX 5.5 with Blue Board smooth feel infused into them. Get a very tight mid flight on them on normal swings - easy to flight. In terms of ball flight generated, there was significant wind (10-20) both days and the ball really seems to hold its line very well. Don't see, as yet, that I am hitting them any longer, but, I was not looking for that. I would say very similar to PX 5.5 for me in ball flight performance (except CT-115 seems to have less bend in the flight), but, PX 5.5 is not as smooth. Is it worth it? Up to you. If you can cope with the price, and, they fit you, absolutely, yes.

Great review - my irons and wedges are out for a re-shaft now, can't wait to get these things on the course.

The only way I could describe these based on my trackman fitting is flight like DG but with feel that is even better than my old Modus 120 - not sure how they do it but a great shaft!

Recently purchased these in x-flex for my p790's. Nothing else compares to the feel and performance of these shafts. Even as an x-flex the feel is firm, as you would expect, but also super smooth and literally like butter to hit. It's a feeling that can't really be put into words to hit these, so I suggest everyone get fitted for them to experience how great a shaft this is. If you can afford the price, these shafts are an absolute must to purchase.

Where can one buy a set of these online?

Are they trim to fit, or do you specify length when you purchase?

Very happy with my ct-115 stiff shafts. Took a chance and bought a used set with them (didn't want to pay for new); pulled the shafts and installed them with my mixed set of mizzy heads. Higher ball flight than the s300 but I've gained yardage and accuracy! Playing some of my best golf this year tee to green ?
