Or in real world slang; no new nothin. What a shame; I adore the Bridgestone product and it seemed to be making nice headway in the US market but obviously not enough for Japan to commit to it. WE WANT A NEW DRIVER ALREADY! OK; my vent it now done... :black eye:

Different thought here -

I bought this driver I think in 2005 and it's still available and still very functional and very, very long if you know where on the face to hit it! You will not lose strokes playing this vs any current 2009 model, IF it fits you.

+1, those were absolutely sweet, as were the wedges.

 

On another note - it always amuses me that seem to an equal number of people that b(*$% about companies that come out with too much new stuff, instead of sticking with good stuff, as there are people complaining about companies NOT coming out with something brand spankin' new all the time. Just interesting.

Well we know they already have something new so why not come out with it? It's been a while anyways since Bridgestone has made a driver statement anyways.

 

But sometimes if someone sticks with good stuff it's just not good enough ie. Macgregor. Bridgestone is just set because they are just a brand branched off of Tourstage that doesn't get alot of money put into because Tourstage takes all the spotlight.

Oh really thanks for the heads up. FYI I gamed this driver about two years ago (when it was starting to get old) and I thought it was very nice looking, but it's not the best feeling or forgiving driver on the market. IMO it's outdated when put up to other low spin heads. I know Taylor Made gets a lot of grief here, but at least they get stuff out on the market. Bridgestone seems to have given up on the whole club manufacturing thing and is now focusing on the refinishing business. Watch out BOS!

Black nickel wedges look top notch. I love that finish. A bit me-too though to copy titleist!

 

I have given up waiting for a decent Bridgestone Driver and got a Mizuno MX 560. Its OK nothing spectacular js forgiving. Not really longer than my Macgregor M38.

 

Also the irons look good but I am sticking with my Tourstage Z101's.... 5 years old and still going strong... mind you would probably need a loft and lie check!

Nope -- always heard here it was Endo who does Bridgestione forgings as they also make TourStage forgings (from previous year's posts)

Bridgestone has now produced my 2 favorite iron sets in the past 10 years, the j33 cb's and now the j36 carbon cb's . . . . aaaand I'm a lefty. :russian_roulette:

The E5+ has been a tremendous ball for me.

 

I've been gaming my current irons for several years....I think I'll be getting fit for a set of J36 PC irons this year. I'll demo their wedges, also. Wonder if they still make the copper West Coast wedges?

 

Not worried about a driver this year...sticking with my trusty G10.

when the tourstage xdrive 09 drive gets the bridgestone rebadge it will really sell. its a great stick but here in japan its just so expensive at $900 (the yen rate is a killer). hopefully they will get a good price point in the us....

I have owned this driver for the past 2 years and the 3 wood for the past year. I'm glad they haven't changed it, I love the driver. I was bouncing from Driver to Driver until I bought this guy. Amazing driver once you find the right shaft.

It was never broken - and I say ATTA BOY !!!!!!!!!!!! to Bridgestone to sticking with a design that needed NO!!!! improvement
