Whats up guys, in the market for a set of Scratch wedges. Not necessarily set on which grind I'm going with yet.

 

Main purpose of this post is to get you Scratch Owners to Post some pics of your Gear!! I'm also looking to hear some feedback on your clubs now!

There was a set recently posted on BST.

 

I’ve been gaming their wedges for years. I actually really like the FIT wedges, for some reason more than the hand grounds I have.

He made me 4 sets, duplicating exactly wedges he made for Jose Maria Olazabal hen he was at MacGregor.

I'm curious why people post these Scratch threads in this sub forum?

 

It used to be an all American, MI based company and revived as National Custom Works.

 

Love their stuff, but more partial to the wedges from Jeff than Don.

Tried to play the vokey tvd k grind and it just did not cut it. Went back to scratch DD grind.

I'm just about out of "pic posting" data through this site but if you click my WITB link below I have pics of my Scratch DW Tour Department wedges that were just refinished by The Iron Factory (haven't hit a ball with them yet). It's a 54* TNC grind, and 58* SLT grind.

 

If your interested Scratch is not around but the crew still is and are now called National Custom Works. Same crew new name.

I game a 58 degree 1018 DS lob wedge not ground by Don White or Jeff McCoy. However, it is absolutely outstanding. BEST LOB WEDGE I HAVE EVER GAMED ..... bar none!!!I I attempted to find a backup in a Fourteen RM Tour raw 58 degree lob wedge and pretty much did not care for it. Some swear by Fourteen but this wedge didn't fit me or my swing. I will keep an eye out on a backup Scratch LW like the one I have.

I have DW wedges 54* TNC, and 58* SLT, BUT put in my old 1018 53* TNC (bent 54*), and a 1018 DD 58* which for me is able to be hit from any and all lies, thin, bare, thick rough. Just slide it under the ball, you can't catch it heavy even if you try yet it never skips off the ground into the ball, it's kinda mind blowing what can be with this wedge/grind. Now I just need to find a new one for sale, or one in good shape and send it to The Iron Factory for a refinish to make it new again.
