Am now going to have to make a special trip to buy a couple or 4 lol

lol. Decided to pick up a 15 ball pack, in yellow, paid full price, 17.99. Still not bad for a 15 ball pack, if it works well, I will be back for the 2 for 25 deal they run often. Also, the D2 Divas were on sale too for 12.99 at Golf Galaxy. Will report back.

I was wondering if the Divas were any different, keep me posted.

I picked up the D2 feels in yellow. Not the diva. I am not ready to play a pink ball, lol. I practiced with them today. Surprisingly, they have a very good feel for a two piece ball. The yellow color was nice. I need to do a side by side comparison with the gamersoft. Also, I putted with them in the living room and again, I'd say a decent feel. Not too light and not too heavy feeling.

As I have said before, I have been playing the D2 Feel for close to 10 years now. Went out today in sunny 57* weather on my home course which is still fairly soft and shot 76. The D2 continues to play great and be under a foot from its pitch mark into greens on a well struck shot. IMO, it's a great ball at even a better price and I play it almost exclusively during the fall/winter season.

Nice, do you have to allow for run out on chips or is it fine during fall/winter play?

I almost always allow for run out in my short game no matter the time of year. The 3 other guys I played with yesterday were all using urethane balls and the majority of their short game shots were rolling out almost as much as mine. Once the greens at my home course beging to firm up a little more, I move to playing balls that spin more. For 6 months of the years, in the soft conditions I play in, the D2 works great.

Thanks, glk23. I'm sold - until the Gamer Soft comes out in yellow, lol

Well tanner25, I read some reviews on the GS and have determined that I need these lol when they compared them to other similar balls, which I have played and said it had more greenside spin, I was sold LOL YES yellow would be awesome but what made them do that in blue, is beyond me. Yellow will sell more than blue...no brainer

Now I need to decide on 2 doz or 4 LOL

Song Dog, You will love the GS. Best value, in golf. Likely similar to the D2 with some spin. Yes, the boys at DSG product marketing must have been out one night getting drunk and said, yeah, let's make it a blue ball. I am not sure what they were thinking. I'd say hold off on the volume buy on the GS, until Black Friday. They are always on sale, Buy One Get One Free. It's a great time to stock up. In the meantime, keep an eye on DSG's web site for a flash sale or 14.99 for one. They offer free shipping for an in store pick up.

Gosh, I just don't feel the love for the Gamer series. Tried the Tour last year, buy one get one and took one back. Last week I caved and tried the GS on Thursdays buy one get for $14.99. Just don't like these balls. I enjoy the D2 feel that I put off trying forever but when I did, I went back for more. Heck, I even like the Bomb balls my wife bought for me. Gamers? No go. Last generation of Chrome Soft my favorite but alas they are gone and a bit pricey when you get a few bad rounds and start losing into the woods/water.

D2+dist & Bomb are great balls.

D2 red (distance) seems to putt best for me out of the D2 series. Have to re-test this since I changed putters. The Bomb is a bit too clicky for my taste.

Put the D2F against the reg Q Star the other day from 100 out. Q seemed softer at impact, felt good but the D2F seemed to me a tad firmer and a better sound (I liked better). At the green from ball mark to where each stopped, the D2F was right with the Q or was less roll out. And like putting better with the D2F. So my thought for me was, D2F (15) as 2 for 25 or bogo, why would I want to spend the extra for the Q stars. Q Star is an awesome ball but if I had to choose, for performance and $ (being the deciding factor) D2F would be my choice.

On a well struck ball D2F, has a good feel. Overall, in my opinion the DF2 is a bit firmer than I hoped for. I am giving up on needing a yellow ball. That brings Top Flight Gamersoft and Wilson 50's into the mix. Through lots of experimenting you can't beat these balls for feel and price.

  • 2 weeks later...

Played the GS. I really like it. Tonight I hit drive then hit a 75 yrd wedge with pin close......EAGLE

Also played the D2F and the GT. There are things I love about all three. Greenside, I’d take either of the three.

There isn’t a bad thing I can say about any of them. But I am gonna stick with the D2F and GS. And just ordered another 2 doz of the GS for 14.99.

Awesome balls for the money. Still wish the GS came in YELLOW LOL

Tried the D2 Feel and it is an amazingly good golf ball. Shot my best rounds of the spring so far this week. I was very impressed.

I started playing this ball earlier this year due to all the hype I would read about it. It's a great ball. Last few rounds I have played the new Kirkland 3 piece ball and I like it very much. The Kirkland is also more durable on those errant cart path shots.
