NEW SEASON!!

Yankees and Astros fan. happy the 'stros won last year. They're a great team. the ALCS was a good one as was the World Series.

Yankees already starting off great with a Stanton blast! As are the 'stros with Springer picking up where he left off in the World Series.

Great job by the Red Sox bullpen imploding.

That was like a Sox game from the dark years !

Don't feel too bad; the Blue Jays are up to their usual tricks and it didn't take long either. First inning, a dropped fly ball followed up by a blast and it's 2-0! Then we get to find out why Donaldson hasn't been playing all spring; he can't throw -- dead arm... Just like last year, all this lip service about a high performance department makes me want to puke as one guy after another show up in camp unfit to play baseball. WTF?

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

I'm a die hard jays fan as well. JD's arm is definitely a concern especially with his salary and Morales already taking the DD spot with Pearce as a fill in. So far though they are 4-2 and spitting a series with a Yankees feels like a steal. Our core pitching looks great but we are one injury away from a disaster in that department.

What little we have seen from Osuna so far looks great. Our new additions as well seem to be on a good track (although 6 games in) I'm a little more optimistic than I was before the season started but considering what the yankees have done and who they have, we'd have to move mountains or catch some serious win streaks to play on the same level.

I'm with you on the Donaldson situation. He still doesn't look right throwing. I won't be surprised if that manifests itself into something worse over the course of the month especially if he is playing outdoors in cold weather. Now Dias is down with back spasms, so there's a question mark there. Not the best scenario to be heading out on the road early in the season.

What's up with Pearce? He has like 5 at bats and a single game start. The last two games Granderson has been playing against lefthanders, so it seems as though something must be wrong with Pearce that they aren't talking about. I get that every team has to deal with injuries, but this is starting to rhyme a bit with last year on the health front. At least there's more depth available to help deal with this, but so far they're not making any moves.

As you have said, at least they are winning so you just ride the success as long as it lasts. Other than the first two NY games they've been entertaining to watch, so that's a good thing.

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

Haha. And this is why the world hates Yankees "fans". Talk about a guy all year and then boo him in his home debut. What a joke

Our leadoff hitter Brian Dozier has 4 dongs in 5 games. It's just crazy what he's done the last two years...and then to jump out of the gates with 4 homers in 5 games? Absolutely nuts.

Minnesota is going to break a record for coldest April 5th in (recorded) history today (8 degrees)...and it's our home opener today!

Snow is expected...but I am not sure if it's going to effect game time. I think the game is going to be played.

Can someone explain to me why the MLB shifted the season forward again?

The players association wanted more off-days through the regular season.

Gives winter ball a whole new meaning, doesn't it?

Tigers have already had three postponements in the first week. And had to play a doubleheader last Sunday. Really stupid scheduling to open the season at home, in late March, with a NL team. Where they have to get the games in somehow, as the opposing team is not coming back to town the rest of the season. In northern cities, at least start with divisional teams so there's ample opportunity throughout the year for rescheduling.

Now off to CWS where the forecast is for cold and snow. Don't think the player's association was planning the off-days to front end loaded at the beginning of the season. And the Tigers will be dreadful this year.

I guess Dozier is leaving Minnesota after this year. He hit more homers than any other 2B in the history of the American League two seasons ago, followed it up with another all-star worthy effort last year, and is out of the gates this season at a torrid pace.

So bummed he's leaving. End of a 4/yr $20 million dollar deal - literally was like one of the best deals in MLB the last four seasons.

It's amazing how slim the cut-off line is for tolerable weather to basically unplayable weather in places like Minnesota. Really, Masters week is generally the rule, here in Minnesota.

Though, there are occasionally those early April days when we do get brutalized.

Why would they postpone the home opener? Looks like World Series weather. LOL.

So the Cubbies cancel their HO, but the Sox played on the Southside the same day. Makes sense...

Cubs had an off day yesterday White Sox didn't so it made sense, also by all accounts the White Sox have the best grounds crew in the biz and the Cubs don't.

I can't imagine why any northern team would build a new stadium and not dome it.

Minnesota? yeah not sure either.

Real shame that the Yankees got blown out on national TV last night, you really hate to see that

Ya hate to see it. Real shame. Also Derek Jeter on the cusp of ruining his reputation/legend,,,folks, ya hate to see it..

side note I'm giving up on the Reds until they fire Brian Price and promote Barry Larkin to GM. (wishful thinking). What team should I root for now?

It's too bad about the reds, I'm not a guy to cheer for guys just cause their Canadian or cheer for Canadian teams (I hate the Jays almost as much as the yankees,) but man do I love Votto, it would be nice to see him and the reds get competitive again and for him to get an extra base hit but he's usually a slow starter.

As far as other teams the Rockies are always fun to watch
