It took a minute for me to realize it wasn't a Key & Peele sketch making fun of todays rap. Don't get me wrong I used to like rap, Tupac, Biggie, Big L, Jada, Wu-Tang etc. etc. basically most of the mid-90's to very early 2000's but man I just don't get it anymore. It's just a catchy beat with nothing being said.... And yes I realize I sound like an old fart saying that but I'm 36.

 

Ok, I got off topic, I don't understand the the ESPN post? Is it supposed to mean "If you don't like me at worst, you won't like me at my best", or something along that line? Referring to him "allegedly" stealing out of lockers in college (his worst) and nobody would respect now at his best (winning the Masters)?

I was just trying to let you know, these threads can be very organic. You want to watch one veer off course and crash into a mountain, casually link to a polarizing opinion (especially concerning race, politics, etc.) and watch it rocket away from the intended subject.

It’s NOT REFERRING to him stealing in college. In the picture he’s wearing an AJGA hat. It’s junior golf. It’s a joke so I feel lame explaining it but basically pic on left is him winning a junior event that is still really cool! But doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Then pic on right is him winning masters aka pinnacle of many players career. Just a joke if you don’t love me when I’m nothing you don’t deserve me at my best but with pictures attached

I disagree to the extent he clearly meant/said "at my worst" - so all the negatives come up and/or he's putting down Reed's wins in his younger years whether he meant to.

Well the good news is that for as popular as Tekashi69's music may be, he won't be winning any Grammy awards any time soon. If you look at the list of winners of the Best Rap Album award, most of the recipients make music that isn't just catchy, but also sends a message.

For those that don't get what they were trying to do here (poorly), the meme is "if you don't love me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best" and the point is to show someone that is currently successful/beautiful juxtaposed with an older, usually much less flattering photo.
