Pros and Cons if your wife is a golfer;

Would ya do it all over again or not?

Okay guys,

This might end up being real interesting and for those not yet married, maybe even she some insight. Now I know, I know we all lover our wives but if you had to, or could, do it all over again, would you marry a woman who plays golf? If so, how good would you want her to be?

Obviously there are pros and cons to this. I'd love to hear your responses and any pros and / or cons not yet listed. Here are just a few.

Pros:
-she'd understand the obsession
-she wouldn't mind us being gone to the course all weekend
-you'd have a game ANYTIME you wanted one
-maybe, more quality time spent together
-golf "expenses" would NEVER be questione
-she'd love playing with your favorite club and balls too (sorry, had to)

Cons:
-expect you to spend more time with her
-expect you to take her to play all the time
-she'd turn into a HO too and you'd spend twice the stash on clubs
(On the other hand, if I called her a HO, she'd either like it and tell me to tie her up and hit her with my stick OR she'd get pissed and hit me so fricken' hard with hers, it would knock me into Indiana. :beach:
-can you imagine TOUR women's clubs and the obsession like shoes
-you know what happens on our golf trips with the buddies, right? :lol: What if her and the girls started doing the same? :(

Let's hear 'em boys.....give us your best. There are some funny scenarios then there is reality. What do you think?

Cado, I like my set up. I get to play. My wife does her thing..tennis. She covers the kids when Im playin. We get along some days!!!! I dont think there is greener bentgrass anywhere else!!!

There has to be other experiences.......so many women claim to be "golf widows" because of our nasty little hobby / habit. :lol:

Kids will change things and that is a very good thing. I think you'll find you will want to be around even if you don't have to be around.

i second that...before kids, the wife did not care when i played golf...after kids ( i have 4) my rounds have dwindled into the 10-15 times a year range.

 

And...prior to kids, i enjoyed playing with the wife, although she would never stop talking!  Since the kids, when i do get to play its my away time from the family, so we dont play together anymore..maybe when the kids grow up we will start again, about the same time we get to have sex again!

I guess it depands on the wife and her upbringing. For me the rule of thumb has always been look at her mother and how she deals with situations (and a sneek peek of what she will look like in 30 years)because usually that's how the wife will act as well. That's what they know and how they were brought up.

OR.....selfishly, avoid kids like I have.

 

 

 

The more I listen to you guys, the more I want keep buying puppies.....you can't throw kids in the kennel and go away for the weekend, the kids don't lick you when you come home, and the wife doesn't stop giving it you......is it true that women change and become brutal after having a kid....I need to know now before I do something I might regret?

I guess I will be the only one here with this response...My wife plays golf..and she is pretty good...and she played D1..oh yea, she is a pro..how's that for a wife that plays..our biggest rule is that we NEVER give each other lessons..not very healthy..It's ok...always someone to play with although she doesn't like to play much anymore..getting out of the golf business to finish her masters and get a real job to support ME!! The best is when we go to the range..she is fun to have wedge contests with..I refuse to putt against her..she kicks my butt everytime..one of those pure strokes..she has no idea why it works, just that it does..it's different having a playing wife..she does understand my desire to play all the time..although the wife overcomes the golfer in her all to often..If I had it to do over, I wouldn't change a thing..I consider myself lucky...

All kidding aside, I think that's awesome....a friend of mine's wife is a good player too and they have a ball.
