Cleveland Huntington Beach #8 putter ?

Has anyone tried this putter ? I have been looking at it as it seems very similar to a newport m2. I have just not had a chance to hit with one. I currently game a Studio design #5 and love the feel, but have an itch to upgrade. My other shortlist putters are an O works 2ball, 1w .

The one thing I like about the cameron is they hold their value so well.

Thanks for helpful replies.

Bump!

I have a #8 on the way and can post after I receive it.

I too am interested in any feedback on this putter. There isn't much out there on it.

Shape looks amazing, hope the feel is too! Also curious to see how the 370g head is received.

Love the fact that its the squareback style with a regular sightline and not that awful "+" sign scotty has been using lately...

Any update on this? Thinking of picking one up. No #8s in any of the local shops here

I'd really like to know if this putter is face balanced or not? I've been actively searching online to see if any of these HB putters are fb.....I read a review on Golf Galaxy or somewhere from a buyer that it had a slight toe hang.

I have a 6c and am not fully sold on the center shaft yet.

I read online the 8 has slight toe hang

Was that from a forum, vendor, review? I didn't see any of that info on Cleveland's website?

I read it on a review on rockbottomgolf. Not much information on it online. I hear great reviews on these putters, just not very good marking.

That being said I just ordered one online and can give more feedback when it comes in

Hit the 8 and 4 today. I keep going back and forth. I like the heaviness of the 8, then hate it. I do like plumbers neck more, so I think I'm going with the 4.

I have a photo of the 8 and I think there is a very very slight toe hang. Let me try and upload the photo somewhere

I have no idea why it's upside down, it's right side up on my phone :D

Save it to your desktop and flip it

I have one. Tiny TINY touch of toe hang. When I purchased they said it would hang about 4:00, which is what I wanted. Unfortunately it doesn’t and is basically face-balanced.

Probably mental for me. I've tried my #6c, #8, #11 and even some of the odyssey cs putters that appear to be fb but aren't quite.

I gamed a MC04 Nike Method putter a while back (cs wide blade) and you really can feel a difference of a truly fb putter head that goes back and through with 0 open/close feeling at all.

I'm still learning about putters. I tend to push my putts right. Do I need toe hang or don't need toe hang? I had about the same success with the 4 and 8 yesterday.

Missing right could be a combination of multiple unknowns. Needing Fb or toe hang traditionally depends on how much arc your stroke has. IMO putters are about confidence and feel just as much as if the putter “fits” your stroke. Personally i tend to miss fb putters right and prefer a touch of toe hang around 4:00.

Does anyone know what grip is on this putter? The blue one made by Lamkin. It felt really nice, but I've only seen them on Cleveland putters.

If anyone is looking for one I’m going to get rid of mine. Only seen carpet. Just didn’t have the toe hang I was looking for.

I was just given an HB#8 as a gift and am very happy with it so far. It will probably replace the HB#6 I currently game, after using it on the practice green a couple times now.

Compared to the HB#6, the HB#8 has a longer face which helps me with alignment. The square back contributes to that factor as well. The #8 is also slightly heavier than the #6 and feels a bit more stable, but that may also be because it is slightly more face balanced. The #8 is nearly perfectly face balanced with just a couple degrees of hang.

The only thing I don't like about the #8 over the #6 is the sound. There is a hint of a metallic ping whereas the #6 really just made a dull thud, which I prefer.

Just got this after a great deal (699 SEK = 78 USD new in plastic) and I am very glad I pulled the trigger. The #8 suits my eye for some reason and for the first time in many years I feel I can go after 10 feet putts with more confidence. It sits beautifully behind the ball and feels very stable during the arc. Also digging the impact feel. A keeper!
