The surprising Callaway Fusion driver

Recommended Posts

My head still at the customs (hope customs is the right vocabulary)

Because it was shipped from US to GER

But I hit the 10,5* head today again, outside so I saw the ball flying the first time!

I set the head at 9,5* and started hitting beautiful long and straight shots! (Maybe little draw, but that’s my shape ... so perfect!)

Im so damn confident with this head so I’m crushing it every single time!

Im so in Love!

The only thing is: the ballflight was a little high but still penetrating...

I think the height will be fixed with my 9* head!

I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!

Edit: hit it in my shaft: Motore 6.2 TS x flex - LETHAL COMBO

Ok, it probably won't beat out my Fusion but i have equipped both my 2016 M2 tour issue head and my Rogue Subzero head with Accra FZ 455 and I'm gonna test them over 8 rounds in palm Springs. Flight leaves in an hour with first course testing at Firecliffs !

Played my Rogue at MPCC last Thursday but it was not a good test due to adverse weather but with rain and 25mph winds, the fusion was still absolutely perfect.

im seeing about 5-10 yards on average, nothing eye opening but after 4 rounds it is definitely there.....I know the spin rates of each, so im wondering if its just a larger sweet spot on the Rogue.....To be fair though, my hit pattern on the Rogue is really tight......both are in the bag now as 1 and 2.....today is the first day though that the Fusion stays at the hotel.....

Any updates? I am looking forward to finally testing my fusion outdoors in the next three weeks.

yep, the Rogue is still in the top spot in the bag right now but the Fusion is still calling me daily to take it out.....at the end of the day, im not sure if the extra 5-10 yards is worth it.......the Fusion always had me in play and the Rogue has 1-2 errant shots per round. Im gonna keep a close eye on this matchup.....I like the extra yards for bragging rights but its probably costing me a stroke per round right now.

My confusion driver is still king. Finished my club champion fitting. Most consistent, longest carry, longest distance, still the champ, tried rogue, rogue draw, rogue sz, Ping this and ping that, m3 and m4, pxgeee and Mizuno that. Even used almost the same shaft Diamana RF while I use a r.

Closest club which was a few yards less but just as consistent was ping g400 last which was a big surprise.

I’m an old guy with a slow swing speed but lighter shafts went nowhere even the tpt $600. I need some weight especially 200-205 in the head.

I have the standard fusion 10.5, heavy weight, d and s setting, 45.5 with midsize and Diamana r series.

Track man really helped me find out swing issues, I have a slight outside in and am in the -1 to 0 angle of attack with around 2900-3100 spin which was lower than all the other lower spin type head accept the ping lst.

So no new driver, just work on the swing.

Confusion is the king, long live the king

I THINK I had another 5 yards with the Fusion AT TIMES on mishits.

However, with my Rogue Draw the biggest thing I've noticed is better feedback and feel on all shots whereas at times the Fusion was lacking in this department. Don't get me wrong, I still like the Fusion. At this point I prefer the Rogue Draw though.

I am having much better success with the Rogue Draw than I ever had with the Fusion (I tried different weights, different shafts, etc.). I really wanted the Fusion to work, but it never clicked with me. Despite it being early in my season and my game being rough around the edges, I am hitting many more fairways with the Rogue Draw. YMMV.

I know you are quite the JDM enthusiast.....the Ryoma Maxima compares favorably to the Fusion

Have a D-1 Premia that should be similar due to the design but I couldn’t hit it as straight so I gave up.

The Fusion is going nowhere. Today reminded me why I have it in the bag and will hopefully prevent me from straying this season. I may be giving up a few yards but this driver is just giving me such confidence right now. Even when the rest of my game is falling apart, I can still hit fairways and hit it out there longer than any max forgiving driver I've ever tried.

I just got this Fusion driver head a short time ago but haven't been able to hit it yet since it is snowing again! It is good to read some reviews on here about it. I did do a search for reviews but mostly found where folks were saying it hits too high!

I can't wait to try it and see how it compares to my XR16 Pro driver!

I switched from the XR16 pro to the fusion!

I am not shorter, I am straighter, I am happier!

Got the #1 #3 and #5 Fusion in the bag right now and they are MONEY!

That is good to know but it is gonna be hard to replace my XR16 Pro as it is a sweet club! I hope the Fusion can give me at least the same results as I have hopes for it. I wouldn't mind getting the FW's too if I can find a great deal on them sometime but I am extremely happy with my Steelhead XR 4wd and 4H right now!

Just curious but is anyone using a different weight in their's compared to the stock 5g with the longer shaft or the 12g with a shorter shaft?

I bought a Callaway 14g weight and was surprised that it did not fit....it appears the Fusion weights are not the normal weights that Cally uses on pretty much everything else.

That sucks! I can't believe they don't use all the same weights. I too was hoping to play with the weighting some depending on what it does with the swingweight, etc. I was thinking of an 8g in place of the 5g with the same longer shaft to start with.
