I've hit some pretty long drives on holes that're downhill or downwind, but my longest drive all things factored in is about 315 on a flat hole with no wind. I thought I lost my ball honestly, because it ended up just running into the primary cut. I still have no idea how it went that far, I even looked for scuffs from a stone or a yardage marker. Normally, my perfect drives in those conditions are around 280.

I hooked one into a coal car on a CSX train one day. I'd imagine it went a good few hundred miles before coming to a rest. Longest actual drive I think I ever corked was something like 325-330 on a downhill hole with an elevated tee box. And let me tell you, when you're 17 and pull that off, you'll have the confidence to walk up and get rejected by Kate Upton.

#12 at Hawk's Creek in Ft Worth. Downwind and caught the downhill side slope "speed slot" on the right hand side with a perfect draw. Hole measures 475. I had 65 yards left.

Flew it into the greenside bunker on 16 that day too. Hole measures 415 but is a slight dogleg right. Drive was all carry over water.

Longest standard drive with no special conditions (wind, downhill, etc.) was 345. The longest since coming back after a 5-year layoff has been 295. Same driver for both.

Average drive 5 years ago - 278 (carry)

I hit a legit 360 yard drive at the Lake Chabot Golf course, 18th hole! Now before you start calling me a liar, #18 is a 650 yard par 6. It's a dogleg left, severe downhill par 6 that goes uphill at the end. the first 180-200 yards is actually a pretty flat plateau, but if you can clear that, your ball will drop another 150-200 yards due to the downhill portion. I've heard of guys hitting it longer then my shot... it really plays like a normal par 5. It's way too easy to get an eagle even with though the last 100 yards or so is uphill to the flag.

*for reference, my normal driver shot is about 240 yards, 250 on a good day (non elevated tee)

Played a couple weeks ago and laid into two on back to back holes. First was slightly uphill, walked off at 345. Next hole was downhill (somewhat significantly), was walked off at 377. I don't know that I'll ever see that number again, but it was fun in the moment.

351 on a flat hole with a touch of wind at my back. It was a dry summer and I caught the right edge of the rough, which was bone dry. Cart's GPS read 438 from the tee box and I was left with 87 on my 2nd. I think my longest carry I've ever had was in the 290 range.

Had one last year that caught a cart path that crossed the fairway on the fly. I'm not sure what the hole played from the tee box, as the course in question doesn't have GPS, but on the card claims 395 and my laser shot a back-pin location at 44 yards on my 2nd.

This season, i'm playing from the tips at my regular course and the first time off these (on the 8th hole), I swung as hard as I could, hit it right in the middle, and didn't see where it went (cloudy day and a white ball). I knew it was good but had no idea where it was. It ended up like 85 yards from the middle of the green in the middle of the fairway on a 410ish hole. It measured 329 with gps and was slightly downhill, but no wind. My normal drive is about 260-270, so this was a bit of a surprise. Sadly, the flag was on the front and I flushed my sand wedge over the back and made a bogey.

323 yards and it came out of nowhere really, at the time. (I've had multiple 300 yard drives since then, almost 1/round now) I believe it was wind-aided at the end based on the 2nd shot that followed it, a 192 yard 7i that I planned for wind influence.

Hole 9 of this round.

Longest on a straight, flat hole, no wind, no cart path or sprinkler head?

I want to say about 360 or 365.... at the Jersey shore about 4 years ago with my father in law. Perfect hit with a new TM SLDR 8.5 I had just put together. It was a high trajectory, low spin bomb that had a tiny little draw on it. Filthy....

That's one of the only drives I ever remember. I've hit lots of others that were "longer" on the GPS, but had tailwinds or were downhill. I've hit others that were "similar" but only went 320-330 at my home course b/c it was on an "uphill" hole.... LOL.

Downhill par 5 back when I lived in Atlanta. It played 586 yards, I took over the trees on the right side and had 190 yards to the flag. It was down hill, but I hit it as well as I could.

480 - Carried 260 to the right center of the fairway, hit a sprinkler head dead center, then bounced 30 yards and hit the cart path that cut into the fairway around a finger of the lake, bounced 3 times down the cart path on the other side and rolled left into the intermediate rough....the ONLY plausible explanation as I lose sight about 230....

I am sure I have hit longer shots before. But, a memorable one I hit was 323 on 18 at mid pines to cap off a great vacation week of golf with friends that flew in from all over. And I birdied it too.

More about the experience for me.. Kinda like its not about how fast you mow, its how well you mow fast.

It ended up beyond the first waste bunker on the right there.

Hit a 2-iron just through The Valley of Sin. Not really a "drive" but had some wind (nothing crazy) and just pured/belted one. That might have been the longest I've ever actually hit one in relation to the club I was hitting.

I have had some drives over 300 yards, but with asterisks.

Near Guthrie, Oklahoma many years ago, I used to play Cedar Valley GC with its hard clay fairways. I got super drives on a par 5 hole. The 560-yard dogleg left, with a slalom hump outside the dogleg around fairway bunkers. A high draw would carom off the hump, turn left and run out to 340 yards. From there, I could bounce a 4W onto the green.

A second long drive hole was at No. 10 at Kandena Air Base in Okinawa back in 1973. The 620-yd. par 5 was a dogleg left than had a lava bed under the fairway. This is the Asian equivalent of hard clay, and a draw would run out to about 320 yards. A push, however, would bounce through the landing area and you would have to punch back to the fairway.

On flat ground with a modern driver, I have run out to 300 yards a couple of times. One such shot won me the Long Drive contest at our 2016 club championship.
