Pro sl feedback?

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a pro sl and in a clearence event at golftown. Wow they are comfortable. However, i would like to hear some feedback of long time user.

I bought them because at the end of the round, i am always in a rush to take out my golfs shoes. My footjoy dna and tw 15 feels not comfortable in my feet after 4h. Does this happen also with the pro sl? I know it sound silly but i am still looking for the most comfortable shoes. I tried some skechers but the fit wasnt right. In footjoy, the fit is perfect... when i walk around the house. So i would like to hear your experience with the pro sl please!

Thanks

Being made of leather, they will form to your foot after awhile. When that happens you can hardly tell you're wearing shoes. They are that comfortable.

I agree with Randywildman: "These are to me the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The only issue I see is the knobs on heel area wear down a little quicker then I would like. Great shoes !"

The heel area wore down on mine but I wear the shoes on & off the course.

This is how much I like them: I bought 2 more pairs as backups.

No. I couldn't find a size/width that was just right.

Pro SL FTW. Have had mine for about a year now and I think they’re the most comfortable shoes I’ve owned.

I walk when I play so they log a lot of miles. They’re light enough that you don’t get tired walking in em for four hours and my feet never hurt, even after 27 holes.

I have a pair of adidas and I’ve noticed that they’re a little clunkier and I wind up having some fatigue/pain at the end of the round.

Wish I could find some more pro SL on clearance.

Are they more stable than the Freestyles? Those are too soft in the sole.

I haven't tried freestyles but I can say I haven't found myself wanting for more - I've found them to be a perfect balance. Great summer walking shoe

I can nearly twist Freestyles 110 degrees if I hold the heel and twist the toebox.

I was a first gen-DNA owner, and they were absolutely perfect for me feet. Wore them for 2 seasons probably 100+ rounds and never had any issues. Picked up the SLs this off-season to go a little easier on the knees with the spikeless, and have been very pleased with the comfort level. interested to see how long the soles will hold up.

Love them but my silver/grey ones aren’t holding up well. Cracking leather all around the shoe and look beat up. It started looking bad after 6 months of play.

They are my favorite shoe though.

Disappointing to hear that and sounds unlike typical footjoy quality.

Yeah, it’s certainly disappointing and I can’t send them back because I wouldn’t have any golf shoes for the return process.

I feel like the quality has been disappointing lately.

Love them. Best feedback you can get is to look at your tv during golf events, I've never seen a shoe worn by more golfers at any given tournament.

This means more golfers were paid to wear them and nothing else.

Those guys would wear crocs if the money was right :)

Not the case at all. Tons of non footjoy sponsored players. A higher % on the euro tour where I’m sure not many of those guys have shoe deals. Also bridges the entire age spectrum of players out there. Awesome shoe.

To add to this, even though many of the 'unknown' euro and smaller tour players might have a ball/shoe/glove/hat deal combo of some kind as is standard amongst high level ams all the way to the top, no manufacturer would specify (demand) a player wear spikeless shoes, that's always a players determination to make.

I think it's the best shoe footjoy has made since the classics dry premiere, and it seems like many who can wear anything for free (within reason)agree.

I have a pair I purchased last season. Paid full price and am happy with the quality. My pair is a half size too large which I regret a bit, but that is my fault. I keep them clean and put cedar shoe inserts in them. When it rains I play another pair (Pumas). Just bought a pair of Nike Roshe that feel even more comfortable but I don’t expect the Nikes to last long.

Very comfortable with decent stability. I still look forward to my sandals at the end of a round though!

I wear a size 11 Footjoy DNA and DNA 2.0 (but I am starting to wonder if I need 10.5, are they a full size large?)

Do these tend to run about the same size as the DNA line? 1/2 to 1 size larger than normal?

i just bought mine. I wear a 8medium in dna but they are a bit too long. And now, i have the sl in the 7.5 medium and the fit is more than perfect. Give these a try.

I also decided to go with my first white golf shoes.

I have two pairs (one with boa). I've had both for almost two years now and probably have had 80+ rounds walking and riding combined. Both have held up perfectly. The leather inside the shoe has gotten softer and as a result have become very comfortable. Fortunately, I haven't had issues with leather cracking or sole issues like i've read above. I play where it rains often and I can confidently say that the water resistance is perfect in the conditions I play in. Haven't had any issue with wet feet at all. They also clean up very nicely. Historically, i'm a nike golf shoe guy but I just can't say enough about the pro sl's. They might be the perfect golf shoe.

I’m trying to decide on Pro SL Boa in size 12M vs 12W. The regular width is a little tight across the top of my foot. The wide is slightly loose in the forefoot area and I’m concern if it stretches and becomes to loose. Those who have had experience with Pro SL shoes can I expect the size regular to loosen/soften across the top of my foot where the laces begin? Thank you
