Has GolfWRX made you better or worse as a golfer?

The site has definitely helped with my exaggeration. I no longer hit a 160 yard 7 iron...it's now 210+.

The best thing WRX has done for me is the WRX'ers I've met and played with. Only been four of them (DP4, VNutz, & BMan in Chicago, and 4Life in Phoenix), but all just really good guys to play with. And also talk with on here.

 

Hopeful to get hooked up with some of the Colorado guys soon.

I think the funny thing for me is that when I dedicate myself I sometimes feel like there isn’t enough posting or interacting in the forum. Which obviously isn’t true, but when you literally read everything available you eventually run out of content.

 

I think classifieds have been my weakness, I know I want to trade/sell my JPX850 forged but can’t till after Summer without a good deal going both ways.

Definitely better - there are a lot of guys on here that have given me a better perspective on course management and outlook on the game. While the BST board has not been good for me or my game, but all in all WRX has given me opportunities and networking I wouldn't have had. For example, in my bio, the write-up I did opened a bunch of doors for me to take advantage of that has helped my game.

 

better for sure. found playing partners, tourney info, clubs, an online instructor, 2 great swing aids, and lots of good info. 100 percent my favorite site on the internet.

Both! I’ve learned good things about proper club fitting, better practice habits, golf etiquette, etc... unfortunately, I tinker way too much with my swing, club ho-ing (although it’s better now than in the past), spending way too much on yet another hobby of mine (the wife loves that part), etc...

WRX has helped raise my knowledge level - so now I understand better why I have not improved much in the past 4-5 years. Can I put that knowledge into my swing and lower my HCP - guess time (and more effort on my part) will tell. Overall, I'm glad I found WRX and the friends I've made through it - even if I'm still a hacker!

Better hands down. When I joined I was a 120+ super slicer, average score for the past 2 years is 83.4 and I’ve gone from a 105ish SS to 115+ as well. I’ve made many many improvements thanks to GolfWRX, it’s the best thing to ever happen to my game for sure. :)

WRX has made me more informed regarding equipment performance and given me a forum to offer some advice or my experience, especially to other mid and high teen handicappers like myself. I just semi-retired and hope to be able to practice and play more often which is how my golf skills should improve.

The best experience is from the Club Tech forum. Learn a lot from those guys. Also from Tom Wishon in club forum. Foreverforged , Ferguson, Sean2, as well as those who are afflicted with lefty syndrome.

Neither. GolfWRX has provided some terrific reading, some ideas on equipment (more than I had prior), some excellent tips, some terrific eye candy. The state of my game is getting better solely because I'm playing a bit more than I had in years past. I have a long way to go but I'm working on it.

Found Dan and Monte on here, took online lessons from both and in person from Monte. I think they really helped me get from an 8 to under a 5.

Somewhat worse in some ways. Really get my head filled with conflicting thoughts sometimes from what I read. And then there is THE BALL! Oh my goodness the ball. I was so fixated on the ball for a while. I tried them all. It was all I thought I needed, the ball, the ball, yes the ball is the issue. Well it turns out I can play with any ball and the score rarely changes. I'm not a good enough player for the ball to make much difference, except for the K3 :wave:

I shot the same personal all-time low before joining WRX and afterwards. So I reckon I'm not any better nor worse.

 

However, I have become a more informed golfer over the past 11 years.

I haven't been around long enough (a month?) but I have learned some of the more technical things about choosing my next set of clubs which may help with scoring (probably not...lol). I have learned a lot on YT and a couple of other forums though. It's been crappy wet and cold weather here so I still have yet to find out if my progress on the range will transfer to the course.
