Looks like the V grind if you order V through wedge works in a handground wedge. In fact hats what it is. Now his bounce maybe adjusted plus other things. But that slot is the hand ground V.

If that's the old z tp with xft, then I believe they came with 2 different face plates. One that conformed to the rules prior to the groove rule and one with grooves that confirmed to the current rules. Could possibly have a stash of brand new face plates ready to go each time his grooves wear out instead of getting a whole new club.

My guess is he's figuring out whether that Vokey can pry his XFT from his cold, dead hand. He's had that weird grind in the bag for years. Probably just has a box full of face plates for it somewhere. I'm sure he's reluctant to change given how unique that grind is and how well it seems to serve him.
