I recently played a course that was 7200yds long. The longest par 3 being 255 dead into the wind. Came up short with the 3 iron but still saved par.

What’s the longest par 3 you’ve played?

Are you against hitting more club for a par 3? Does your manhood suffer?

Texas Star, euless, TX. Number 14 245 uphill

Indian Creek creeks course, number 12 270 yards

Not opposed to hitting driver on either.

When I played the 2016 NCAA Regionals in New Mexico, they were afraid that the course was going to be too easy for us (considering that we had players like Jon Rahm in the field).

So they decided to make the course as long and hard as possible.

On the eight hole, they put the flag all the way back, which made the par 3, 275 yards long and it was also straight into the wind.

Every player I saw used their drivers on that hole.

Crazy as it sounds, sometimes you come up short even if you pick the correct club

I played a gimmicky par 3 off a mountain that was 255. But i didn't really consider that a real golf hole

At my home course we have a par 3 that if the flag is in the back, it plays 235 from the tips and is slightly uphill. The green is also one of the trickiest greens on the course and even if you hit it a two-putt is unlikely. Here is something that will shock and amaze you, the members hate the hole

12th at my usual course is 230 bit the longest I played was about 255. Unless you count 18 at The Old Course. Since you can putt from just about anywhere around that green, it plays like a 360 yd. par 3

Off the back was a little water hazard. My 3 iron is my 250 club.

249 at Southwyck Golf Club (Texas). I usually go hybrid or long iron toward the front edge of the green, but I've seen drivers and 3w's used by others.

Most of the par 3s at my club are quite long. The longest is the 195/235 2nd. Made more difficult by the fact the green is a plateau cut into the side of 45 degree slope (left down to right). Slicing and fading are very bad ideas.

There's also the 183/200 14th and 170/186 16th.

..what about the shortest? For me that would be the 87/152 13th at Helidon Lakes, UK. From the yellows that requires me to use my 60 degree wedge. If I was swinging well in summer conditions I might have to resort to my 64 degree. There's a pond to carry over which makes it even more difficult.

The tee box is just to the left of where the paths cross, the green is guarded by two bunkers as well as the pond.

Maybe. But more often than not I get made fun of by playing driver on those holes until I put it on the green and they’re short. 90% of players have vanity issues when par 3s show up

17th hole at Waverly Oaks in Plymouth, MA - 251 Yards (Pretty much all carry with a bunker short and right that is about 20' below the surface of the green)

5th hole at Shining Rock in Northbridge, MA - 239yds (two tiered green)

They have not used that tee box in at least at Waverly Oaks 10 years occasionally we will go back there and hit one

The Judge #16 at the RTJ at capitol Hill.

256 yards to an island green. 240+ carry over water from tee box. Completely exposed to all wind. I've tried it multiple times and usually have to hit a high cut drive to try and hold the green. Otherwise I'm trying to hit a solid shot that's more of a bunt hoping to put it in the big front bunker.

On the little picture look for the tiny bit of green in the trees. That's the black tee box. The picture doesn't do it justice as to how much further away it is from the main teeing area.

Southern AZ Tubac Golf Resort has 3 nine hole tracks. Playing Rancho 9 - #7 Par 3 = 254yds into a 3-4 club ugly wind. I used a driver, PW to tap in par. I was damn happy too. The whole day was difficult. :beach:

The Los Angeles Country Club, North Course. Will host the U.S. Open in 2023(?). Played there several months back. 7,580 from the tips (which we played), par 70(!!!!!).

The 11th is a 275-yard par 3. Yes, par 3. It's downhill about 15 yards or so from the tee. It's actually playable from there by younger/stronger players than I. I layed up short of the bunkers, pitched up to 12 feet, and missed my par putt.

You won't believe how great this course is. Truly magnificent....

And 100% of you has a chip-on-shoulder issue, so much so you feel the need to make some point in a thread that didn't need it; which leads to projection issues that 90% of players have 'vanity issues' on Par 3s... so many issues.

To the OP, same hole/different tees as Erik above at Paa-Ko Ridge, but it played shorter due to elevation and downhill.

Recently, the 249yd par 3 11th at Royal Ashdown Forest: used driver, no making fun occurred, just a close run birdie putt from 10 feet off the green and tap in par.

The flag is just over the chap on the left's shoulder.

That could Be the dumbest reply in the history of the forum. I’m commenting that the majority of people I see play on Extra long par threes come up short because they play a club that if they had a perfect shot would still only have a 20% chance of landing on the green. It has nothing to do with a chip on my shoulder. I remember playing that way a long time ago. Doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it it just means that people don’t club enough

Anyone who has played Texas Star 14 at 245 75 feet up the hill into the wind isn’t hitting 3 iron. Similarly will very many people, but myself, hit driver because “I’m not hitting driver on a par 3”.

Ok chief. See you on the green. Chip on my shoulder? No. Course management? Yes.
