4 wedge users - what does the top of your bag look like?

Hi folks - i'm curious to hear from the 4 wedge users out there what the top part of your bag looks like, in particular between driver and 5 iron. Assuming that you're using a driver, and 5-9 + 4 wedges, that leaves 3 clubs to fill the gap between driver and 5i.

 

I've tried to setup a poll to capture responses, but i'm sure there are a bunch of other options out there, just looking for some ideas for how to fit another wedge back in the bag and curious to see what others do.

Almost never have the need for another club in that part of the bag. Would never give up my 4 wedge setup.

My setup is in the "something else" category. I bent my irons to 5* loft spacing so I could play 4 wedges, and have flexibility at the top of the bag. So I go D, 3w, 2h, 3h, 4h, 6-PW, 52, 56, 60, P. No need for a 5-iron because the 6 is 2* strong at 28*, so I can go straight to a 24* 4 hybrid.

Driver, 3 wood, 5 wood and either 3 or 4 hybrid.

Driver, 3 wood changed to 4 wood loft, 7 wood, 4 iron, 5-9 and then pw, 52, 56, and 60 wedges. Use 4 iron a lot under trees and in rough and uneven lies. easier to hit low and work the ball. Hybrids are all too high most of the time from trees.

The 7w is 1* stronger and an inch longer than the 4h so it gaps nicely.

For years I used the pitching wedge that came with the typical 4-P AP2 set until I started playing golf more seriously which I then switched to a 46 Vokey. The standard PW that comes with a set is like having an unnecessary iron in your bag. Having 4 wedges in my opinion is crucial to lowering scores and having more versatility inside of 150 yards.

 

Here is my setup.

 

Top of the bag

-917 D3 Driver 9.5*

-917 F3 3 wood 15* sometimes will use 13.5* depending on conditions.

-2 iron 718 TMB 17* (For tighter par 4 tee shots or doglegs that turn at 240-260 yards)

 

Middle

-4-9iron 718 AP2 all 2* strong

 

Wedges

-46, 50, 54, 58 SM7s

For me it´s the harsh facts of reality that dictates these clubs. I would like to game 3-iron and 4-iron but I can´t due to low swing speed. So I have to game 3-hybrid and 4-hybrid instead. Then I have a spoon.

The 3w, 2 & 3 hybrids are almost exclusively used off the tee box.

The 4 hybrid is tee box & 2nd on some longer par 5’s.
