I remember when he was playing a 100x whiteboard.

I creak just thinking about that.

Quick Getty Images search... Pro Orange it is. Looks like the new graphics with the Tungsten Periodic Table Square logo towards the grip

Thanks!

I swore that was what I saw, but he has been hitting the KK for quite some time now.

Best shaft I have ever hit. hands down.

Agreed, have not even looked at anything besides my Epic since I put it in. I have a 70s for my new Rogue SZ 3W, just need to get it swapped in.

I jumped on both last fall, glad i got in before all the hoopla, saved a bunch.

I want to try this shaft so bad but I just don't have the speed or quite the tempo required for it.

If you get 100 with the driver, you can handle a 60s, untipped, no problem....

I get about 107 when I try to go at it aggressively, but it's not as controlled. I try to keep it around 102-103 for accuracy sake. But it's a fairly smoother tempo, I'm not thrashing at it like Tiger.

Plus, based on my anecdotal experience, I tend to swing better with mildly less stiff tip (still stiff, but not rebar) and softer mids, and firmer handles. That's why I usually end up in mid launching shafts and don't play the high bend point stuff like whiteboard, pro white, etc. I'd certainly try one out but only if I got a really good deal.

So, out of curiosity (as I am very curious, and interested in trying because of the popularity on tour and the variety of players it seems to work for)... how can you tell the different versions of this shaft, is there a watered down non-Pro model, and if so what visual cues can distinguish?

Yes, there is a non-pro orange. The Pro and non-pro are pretty easy to differentiate. The Pro has the weave section extend much further up the butt section of the shaft, like 7-9 inches inches, as opposed to the non-pro, where it is like half that.

I think he also switched irons shafts...looks like Project X...but the shaft sticker looks slightly different at the bottom...more black than what is on my Project X shaft labels.

Wonder if it is a new shaft coming out....????

Damn. He was a Nippon Modus early adopter. In fact, possibly the first mainstream golfer I knew of that put them in play. He played Project X prior to Modus, no?

I found a slow mo of a swing he made and the PX steel shaft label is definitely not the same as the retail version. The bottom of it isn’t white, it appears to be dark blue. Perhaps a new variant coming out???? Perhaps a counter balanced PX shaft? We all know Serg loves himself some counter balancing...

Anyone tried it in a fairway metal? I tried a Tensei Blue (not a pro, just stock) in a 3 wood and did not love it or hate. Did not seem much different than a Diamana Blue, maybe a tad whippier.

Scott has most of the year (since the Honda I think), but he went back to an old 910 and GD DI combo this week.

Read this morning that these are standard PX, with a Europe inspired label for the Ryder Cup.

I had it very briefly in my Epic SZ 3+, but switched to the Rogue SZ 3W unexpectedly. I am getting the PO installed in the Rogue this week.
