I originally got them in PX 5.5 but later reshafted to C Taper Lite stiff. I liked the was PX felt but it was killing my elbow and was wearing me out by the end of a round.

C Taper Lite launches about a degree lower and climbs to the same peak height as the PX. PX would launch a bit higher but flattens out to the apex.

I've played project x 6.0s for the last few years and although I loved the way they felt I launched them entirely too high. I switched to DG x100 to lower my ball fight in the xforged, overall like the shafts (feel like I can have a tendency to swing too fast sometimes with them like I'm trying to compensate for the x-stiff even though I don't need to).

I haven't played with the xforged too much yet but when I'm swinging decent they feel phenomenal, there have been a few times where I had a perfect swing and they felt as good as I could possibly imagine.

Did you have just the standard PX shafts? My 765's have the C Taper lites in them and that combo was killer.

Yes standard PX 5.5; not the flighted or Rifles.

PX 5.5 is 5 grams heavier than C Taper Lite Stiff. However C Taper Lites feel a bit softer but with a similar profile. I believe the CG is closer to the butt on the C Taper Lites so the club feels more balance in my opinion.

I’m trying to decide if I should get the XForged without hitting them. I’m currently playing AP2 716 AMT X100’s, but the shaft is tough on me and I need to make a switch. I just got back from hitting a few different shafts and irons (AP2 718, MP 18 SC and 900 Forged).

Best shaft was the Modus 105X and KBS $ Taper. I favor the Modus by a slight margin, but my only concern was I launched it fairly high for a 6 iron, but the spin was pretty low.

Curios how the XForged play compared to AP2/MP18 SC.

I wouldn't take the chance and buy a set without trying them out.

I've tried Modus 105 in MP18SC/MMC and thought they were a nice shaft; felt smooth.

As far as feel, the X Forged are a bit firmer on good strikes; Mizuno has their own special flushed feeling. Distance wise, they were the same. Only difference between them for me was flight. The MP18SC spun more and seemed a bit taller with a sharper descent angle. My flight between the two were, X Forged would peak at 29 yds and descend at 45* where the MP18's would peak at 30 yds and descend at 47*.

I was pretty much committed to getting the XForged, but just learned from Callaway that they don’t offer the Modus 105 in an X Flex. Now onto the next option.

TGW and go under custom options. Modus3 105 x-flex

I tried to build the set on the Callaway website and there wasn’t an option for 105 X. I called Callaway today and they looked it up and confirmed that wasn’t available.

I got my set of X Forged with Project X LZ 6.5s in on Friday. I only got in 9 holes on Saturday along with some range time and so far I really like this set up. I can hit them high or low and move them both ways. Distance wise they might be a touch longer than my Apex/Apex Pro combo set. So far so good.

Played my second round Saturday with the X Forged and still love them. I let my one over front 9 get in my head on the back but that still didnt keep me from being super impressed with these irons. They feel amazing and really are not that hard to hit. Still getting the distance dialed in but its getting close to where I'll be very comfortable.

People still thinking these aren't as soft as Mizuno (MMC, SC,MP-18)...

they are more than soft enough

I loved the feel of them.

great feeing irons. I do believe tho the shaft makes a big difference. Personally for me px6.0 they felt pretty hard but with c taper and dg 120s felt great. Really happy with them.

Coming from MP18 MMCs.

I concur with that opinion

I went from PX to C Taper Lites on my X Forged set; the feel is much better with those shafts. They seem to complement the X Forged better.

After several rounds and many practice sessions, the X-Forged/PX LZ doesn't seem to be working out too well with me. I really think the shaft and head combo aren't really good for my swing. I am finding the way the shaft loads and unloads isn't working for me. So now the question is do I re-shaft these with old reliable X100s or just start over.

If you already have a set of shafts and can do the work yourself, I say go for it.

What kind of results were you seeing from that combo? I got the same thing and so far I've been pretty happy. I will say they do launch pretty high.
