Opinion on blemished custom Ping order

I would be pissed too, but certainly not enough to go through all of the rigamarole of returning it. Knowing my luck, they'd f*** up my specs the second time around.

So, I would just swallow my disappointment and take it to the course. Nothing that a few solid drives down the middle can't cure.

Ok, you just spent $450 on a brand new driver and some are suggesting to touch it up with a sharpie or a type of paint? Psychologically, when you look down while addressing the ball those points will always come into focus and give you a negative thought. I would take it back to Golf Galaxy and suggest they give you a discount, or a full refund or a brand new driver. This is just my opinion and I am quite picky when it comes to buying new stuff.

It's a tiny speck. A tiny dab of a dark gray sharpie would make it dissapear.

I find that to be an easier solution than returning it and waiting for a new one that might also come with a tiny speck or something else wrong with it.

Refund at GG, then go order from a local pro shop. Probably get it cheaper too.

Most likely not cheaper on a ping club. Unless of course that proshop wants to lose their ping account.

You should expect perfection for $450. Send it back or get a refund and buy something else.

Don't apologize or feel bad. You should be pi$$ed.

Scratches and such on the face are going to happen, but the crown is different. I looked at my old Titleist 975 driver the other day, and the crown is perfect, even after many years of play. I'd send it back or get a refund from GG. It would bother me by having to look at it all the time.

Thise old drivers have much more durable paint jobs. The g400 matte finish WILL get little scuffs after a week of play. Guaranteed.

You spent your hard earned money on this. I’d send it back absolutely and make sure it’s right. I’d find out who the garbage employee at GG was who told you that they couldn’t process the return when you came in and speak with their manager. $450 is $450, that may not be a lot to some folks but dang it better be perfect when it gets to me on a custom order for that price

If you're this picky, then it's very likey the replacement head won't be pristine in your eyes either. Just tee it up.

I find the comments like this a bit funny. Why wouldn't a replacement have a clean paint job? Every G400 I looked at in the shop was perfect. My GBB from ~3 years ago still looks perfect after playing it over 100 rounds with it. I'm not concerned that the sole or face will not be perfect, they will be marked up after a while...

I guess I got the responses I expected, some saying play it and some saying to get it taken care of. I went to GG again yesterday, it was way too busy for me to wait. I don't have the time to wait around and go through the headache. With all the negative feedback on custom Ping orders lately, there is a good chance the new one won't be hotmelted or improperly swing weighted. I'll just live with it, as much as I don't want to. I find it ridiculous that Ping won't take care of it directly, especially since it was a custom order and they shipped direct to me.

Thanks for all the feedback, time to close it down.

You missed circling the area on the lower right side of the picture where the paint overlaps onto the face.

Good eye! You should be in QC.

Those pictures are super close up. Can those minute imperfections be seen at address?
