2018 Callaway X Forged

Very inconsistent to say the least. I put the back up set in play today, 714 AP2 with DG TI X100 shafts, and my ball striking was back to normal.

X forged 1 strong for me perfect flight. Also loving the turf interaction. Very forgiving iron. My only negative wish the PW wasn’t so rounded but it’s not hideous by any means.

I still am. I pulled the MP5's out of the bag and put the X Forged back in.

 

They have the same shafts but I'm just more consistent with the Callaway's.

I am after 3 rounds. They look great, feel great and are pretty dang easy to hit.

The biggest difference spec wise between the two. The PXI in the 13's do compliment the club,

But there is a distinct difference with the Nippons.

Would also add to the above, that for me, this updated X Forged18 checks all the boxes,

It is a no nonsense iron. Great feel, point and shoot accuracy,with an easy to work ball flight

There are differences between the 13's and the 18's, but they are subtle with the 18's having an edge

Performance wise. But as with anything else YMMV. Note, I still have the 13's in the southern bag, and use

Has anyone added the X Forged utility irons to the top of the bag? Like 3,4 or 5? I didnt get a 5 iron in my set because I've been hitting the 5 in my other irons pretty inconsistent but the 5 hybrid experiment hasnt been much better. Might try the X Forged UDI 5 and am curious if anyone else has them in the bag with these irons.

I have the utility 3 iron (21*). I love it. Easy to hit and fits the set nicely.

Thanks! I ordered the 5 utility and went with the same LZ shaft. See you got the same shaft too as your x forged too.

Just played another round with these. The 2013 were my favorite irons of all time. I think these may be better

I think that I am going to have mine re-shafted with either DG TI 120 X100 or Modus 130X. The PXLZ 6.5 shaft just doesn't feel right to me.

i got the dg x100 120s they are awesome. Highly reccomend

I have had these irons for 4 months now, and I like them every bit as much now as I did when I ordered them. I have had a great experience with these in the bag and am loving how consistently I have been striking the ball with these clubs.

I swapped my shafts out and went with the Modus 130X and the irons are daylight and dark different now.

Why would they not include a 50 degree wedge as a part of the set like every other set? Even the MB has one...

i have been using a apex/apex pro combo for the past few years and like everybody else (or most members), I was initially drawn bc it just looked so beautiful!

I didn’t think I had the game for it (low to mid 80’s player but my iron game is probably my weakest part of my game) but I thought I’d hit a few balls for $h!ts and giggles bc I’m a hoe...

 

I had a great hitting day at Roger Dunn and it felt SO soft I couldn’t believe it! (Reminded me of Titleist 690 MB blades I used to play back in my days but not quite as soft.) The next few times I was at Roger Dunn, I was just having really good days I guess so I ended up getting fit for it.

I was still unsure if I had the game for it but decided to order 7, 8, 9, & PW with Modus shafts.

 

10+ rounds later, I’ve come to figure out that X Forged is equally forgiving as apex pro but just with better feel!

I haven’t lost a beat replacing apex pro with X Forged but definitely benefitted from better feel.

 

I absolutely love these irons and I plan on having these for a very long time.

 

I actuallygot fitted for Mizuno JPX900 Tour irons. While these were as soft as X Forged, these were nowhere near as forgiving as X Forged.
