Jock Itch Spray replaces impact tape...REALLY!

This is a fun (and useful) tip I picked up last night. I was at a trackman simulator range and started BS'ing with the guy hitting in the adjacent bay. He was holding what seemed like a can of spray deodorant. I asked him what it was for, so he asks me for my driver, then proceeds to spray the clubface and say that its way better than impact tape. My first thought was that this was some new product I haven't heard of yet...but he spins the can around in his hand and its simply a bottle of cheap jock-itch spray. I laughed, and he assured me that can was used strictly for golf purposes...I went on to hit a few drives and it worked perfectly as an impact indicator. It wipes right off with a damp towel as well. Just wanted to share the story and useful tip!

Maybe the guy reasoned the jock itch spray would interact better with balls - I'm not short changing the thought process here.

What powder are you using that doesn’t affect spin or launch angle? I’ve seen a significant effect (lower spin, higher launch, as measured with two different LMs) with Dr Scholls foot powder spray and short irons using urethane balls.

I just look at the marks the dirty a** range balls make all on their own and wipe it off with a little forehead grease after each shot.

Errrr i have to ask, what on gods earth is "jock itch spray"?

 

I mean i can take a guess but i can honestly say i have never heard that something like that exists
