What is the most unbelievable thing you have seen on the golf course?

Recommended Posts

A couple- A fellow dragging his foot out of a cart and his foot got snagged and broke his ankle/leg with foot turned in a direction that was not good. Escaped convicts from Tennessee whom earlier that morning shot a HP. Had the course shut down for the whole day. Their car was found near by abandoned. Was playing golf at a course in Smyrna, Tn and they shut down the course so the Thunderbird's could practice at the airport just off the side of the course. Me and my wife sat there for somewhere around 2 hours watching them fly. It was a lot closer than you could ever get at a air show. Amazing!!

Me and the ex were finishing up on the 18th par 5 and she hit a nice 2nd shot middle of the fairway and the ball was still bouncing when a juvie redtail hawk flew out from the trees on the left, no big deal as we have a lot of them, but then it pounced on her ball. He covered it with his wings like they do when they hit a squirrel, but then he took off with it and dropped it and pounced on it again. He repeated this 3 or 4 times before getting bored and flying off. We both had our mouths open in disbelief.

Two weeks ago ... Playing on a slow course, we're a twosome following a threesome for a while, with a single behind us ... We're waiting in a fairway, the single behind us just tees off into our fairway next us, drives to his ball about 30 feet away from us, parks and nods his head at us ... Have no idea what he was doing.

I'm going to say he was suggesting you guys play as 3, since you're following a 3-some, and it's slow.

He said he was overheating and did this on the 15th Tee Box..... We closed out the Match on the next Hole. :p

The guys we played ignored the two Birdies in a row I made and blamed the Loss on JRods wardrobe change ....LoL

I've got nothing really, been playing for 35 years and nothing major comes to mind. Seen my share of odd bounces and holes in ones, but nothing really crazy. One of the few things that happened to me that I remember is, I played in my wife's company's outing a few years ago, and they had a skins game going. I hit my drive next to the green on the #9 hole, and chipped in for an eagle. That was the only skin of the day, unfortunately, none of us in the foursome actually signed up to get in the action. The course pro said we would have split like $2k had we just signed up.

I cringe every time I see this. Don't know why people do it. Bad habit.

While on the green putting out we saw a dog walk up to our cart, grab an open beer can in his mouth from the cupholder, knocked it over then slurped it up.

It was pretty fantastic.

We heard it was the greenskeepers dog and he kind of just roamed around the course.

Couple years ago on a course at Myrtle Beach with my Son. At the turn we grab some crackers and more beer. He is getting ready to hit his second shot and a squirrel runs right at me, goes under the cart, come out the passenger side and jumps in the cart. He looks at me, jumps in the dash compartment and grabs my sons pack of crackers and takes off. I am laughing so hard I can't stand it. Son chases him but when he stops the squirrel starts to open the pack. He chases him so squirrel takes off running with pack in his mouth again. I was rolling in the fairway laughing so hard.

i witnessed something at Neshanic Valley golf course i was sure i'd never see.

on the ridge course, the third hole green is 50y to the right of the par 3 4th hole, and about half way between the box and the green of 4.

we were on the 4th tee, wind into our face and off the left - the guy i got paired up with hits a slice, catches the wind and one hops into the hole. on the 3rd green.

I was on the BoD for our little club, having a meeting in Dec. Greenskeeper's wife called and said "There's a naked man on the putting green." We go out, and there he is. Cold, cold, we took him into the clubhouse, asked him WTF? Just jogging. We go get his clothes while waiting for a deputy. Turns out he had wandered off from a mental hospital in Colorado, somehow got to the Panhandle, and decided to go for a run. He was not a danger, just a lost soul who went on a little excursion.

I've told this story before, an oldie but a goodie. Final semester in college, my friend and I got paired with an older fellow. This guy was a piece of work, semi-bragging to us all day long about how he hadn't worked in years, had been on disability, unemployment, one thing after the other. And here he is on the golf course. Looked fairly able to work to us. Long story short, on the 18th tee we had a brief wait to hit. We heard a very faint murmur "Fore" from a group on the 17th hole ... then dead silence. Heard the golf ball bounce of the cart seat of Mr. Hard Worker ... followed immediately by him rolling on the ground holding his twig and berries. He took a 1-timer off the cart straight into his junk. Kharma gonna get ya!

I don't think either of us has ever laughed that hard while teeing off ever again.

I worked for a golf club that was pretty private in members and location. Not fancy, just out of the way. Anyway, the club was approached by a local gentleman's establishment to host an outing for their VIP guests. There were a lot of Penthouse, Playboy, and Hustler centerfolds auctioned off as cart girls. I knew it was going to be out of hand when a guy left a zipper on his golf bag open and a ribbon of condoms spilled out. I made more in tips that day than in 1 month's pay. Saw and learned a lot, but nothing about golf.

I've had a few follow me for a ways. I look pretty close to see if there are any signs they are rabid. Unnerving but if I took a step their direction they would trot the other direction. Probably been fed by someone.

Playing Fred Enke in Tucson driving down the cart path come around a corner and there was 2 pretty young bobcats (maybe 18 inches tall sitting) about 4 feet off the cart path just just sitting there watching the world go by. They barely turned their heads as I whizzed by.

There was a goose that had been eaten on the course...feathers everywhere....so we assumed he wasn't hungry . I have seen bobcats in my neck of the woods, not often, but I seem them riding my bike along the creek. Wouldn't want to tangle with one.
