Arccos 360 - (Updated 2.0 Version)

Recommended Posts

Is there any plans to be able to use this without having the phone in the pocket or using the phone battery at all? Saw game golf will release a new version next month without the need for tagging.

There are some unconfirmed rumors going around that they'll have a key fob type device available soon. I'd be surprised if they don't do something though.

Arccos Caddie seems cool, especially the "plays like" distances. But, I have to play 5 rounds to unlock it? Not even an option to pay like 5 bucks to get it?

Caddie will be useless to you without it. The system needs data on your game to be able to advise you on club selection.

I don't see why it needs data on my game to give me the "plays like" distance based on elevation and wind?

I think the reasoning being the having 5 rounds before caddie becomes unlocked is, they have a sample of what you play and how you do it, so the advice is realistic to your game. As for the plays like feature, I think it is available right out the gate, or at least that is what I experienced.

It will give you the "plays like" distances, wind, elevation, etc. before you complete 5 rounds. You do, however, need to complete 5 rounds before it'll give club selection recommendations and other features that require data on your game.

Ah nice, getting out for a round on Monday so I'll have to give it a shot. I can't recall any other apps that give you a plays like distance based on wind and elevation changes.

Bought they system and used it for the first time, recorded every shot apart from putts, which I had to manually add in every time. Not the worst but not great, I wrote to them and they are sending me out an updated sensor fore free to Sweden also.

This I thought was great and apart from the putting, it was an impressive system. Battery usage was much less than advertised also which was a bonus.

Ok great, think I will wait to see how the new game golf stacks up too. Don't want to buy Arccos 360 then they release a new version.

There is no new version in the works. You’re at least a year away from anything beyond using an Apple Watch or self contained GPS FOB being released.

I thought pro is being released soon?

I just got an Arccos 360. I have 3 rounds in with it now. I really like the auto tagging. I am coming from using the Game Golf app on my apple watch so I was manually tagging everything.

Unfortunately, I have had very bad luck with the putter. It only tags long puts. Anything under about 5' it misses. I am guessing that my soft insert putter is just too quiet for it to pick up the sound.

If I'm understanding correctly, the upcoming key fob/apple watch integration will be compatible with the current Arccos 360?

Correct.

Yes but apparently that sensor deal or fob is not on target until either late this year or early next year

Target was this summer. It's may be pushed to the fall as I haven't heard anything since. You said there was "unconfirmed" rumors. It's not a rumor the fob is coming out. I expect Apple Watch functionality in the fall when the new Apple Watch and WatchOS comes to consumers.

don't think i mentioned unconfirmed rumors......some one did, but wasn't me as what you're saying and what I am saying are certainly happening, just timeline can be shifted as always with tech.

I know the FOB is coming out and apple watch function is in process hopefully for the fall, but maybe late fall.

Forever Changing at this point.......

Looks like the Arccos FOB and the Game Golf PRO are dueling vaporware. They both wanted something to announce at the PGA show, trying to trump each other. So they both announced products that weren't even fully developed yet.

IMO it is far from 100% certain that either product will ever show up in the form that was announced.

Guess I got GolfWRX scuttlebutt vaporware confused with PGA Show announcement vaporware. My bad.

It was confirmed to me they were working on it. They hoped it would be ready for the Summer, but gave no guarantees. Personally, I'd want Apple Watch compatibility first.
