IF Golfwrx sponsored a PGA player, who best "represents" us?

Despite a lot of people here hating him, Pat Perez fits the bill. I know a few won't like hearing that Nd will disagree, but it's true. Is he at times a jackass who speaks his mind a little too much? Yeah, but I also just described these forums.

I think too many people normalize "jack*ss" behavior as some kind of counter to our over-zealous PC culture. I get not liking over-sensitivity, since it borders on ridiculous at times. But that doesn't mean that the opposite behavior is cause for folk hero status. It's like, people like Perez even more because they see him as the opposite of a trend they don't like

But....there are a lot of perfectly nice people who also think that PC culture has run amok. The cure for an extreme doesn't need to be another extreme

I don't know Perez but i find his popularity here interesting. I'm not sure people like him or if it's the "idea" of him. Why do people like "jack*sses"? Is that a good trait in someone?

I vote Zac Blair. He gets a new Tour Cameron quite often and I saw him putt with a bullseye one time.

He's a purveyor of the ideals of the golden age of golf course architecture. That's a big no-no on this board where the majority think narrow, tree-lined fairways with knee high rough makes for good golf. GCA has already claimed him (he posts there).

Ryan Moore has the game and swagger we all aspire to. Probably not accessible with his PXG and other sponsors.

Bill Hurley -- too clean cut to represent us? I like him a lot -- but maybe needs more rogue/counter mindset to be a Golfwrx-er.

A lot of people hate on him, a lot of people like him too. There's been a number of threads. There's a couple of posters who know him personally and have said positive things. The rest all seem to praise him for qualities that on the surface don't seem positive

If all Golfwrx members put in $100 -- and we REALLY sponsored someone, who would it be?

ASSUME we could afford anyone. (That's a big assumption -- please don't reply how we could not afford this...even though some people will still go down that rat hole).

Who WOULD YOU WANT?

Great question. Again, the question is who would represent us really well

-- our style, quirkiness, passion etc.

CH III or the Duff.

We need someone who would shamelessly promote us as the sponsor, regardless of what we told him to say, as after all, we are paying him the $$$.

So I guess a Taylormade guy or Phil :D

I'd nominate any of the several Wrx'ers that are trying to duplicate Ben Hogan's swing exactly. That's got to eventually result in Tour wins.

Adams 9015D 10.5 Matrix Ozik
TM M2 Deep Face 3HL Fuji Atmos 6
Callaway Apex 20 Steelfiber hls780
Adams Pro Mini 23 Steelfiber i95
Adams A12 Pro Black 5-9PW Steelfiber i95
Adams CB2 GW Steelfiber i95
Vokey SM6 Black 54 S-Grind Steelfiber i110 CW
Vokey Oil Can 58 V-Grind Kuro Kage TiNi 105
Scotty Cameron Pro Plat Newport Mil Spec

It's not how fast you play, it's how well you play fast!

Guys how about Golfingbro, he legitimately needs sponsorship.. :)

Yeppers, Matthew Hansen??

WhyITF would I sponsor someone who already has a card, sponsors and/or doesn’t need my money????

WTF????

Plus, as a person, Matthew has taken the time to include this board in his travels and his highs and lows and he’s always been a perfect gentleman and I gotta tell ya, a better man than I in dealing with some of your questions and comments, LMAO

Many of these other guys that you’ve mentioned??

Trust me here, they wouldn’t give ya the sweat off of their.....

And you wanna give them your money, lmao???

As always, just my .03 worth?

Cheers?

Totally down, and thanks RP for that.

I would rock Golfwrx logos everywhere. Get me some socks, a giant Golfwrx belt and some labeled shoes. Haha. I may not be on the PGA Tour...yet...but I at least bring some interest with my forum posts. Thats 3 votes for Matt H., still not leading the polling, but maybe it will in the end. BTW, US Open Sectionals coming up for me in Daly City next Monday.

As much as it pains me as a lifelong UGA fan, I have to agree with gatorMD. This is a great idea.

Excuse me, I just threw up in my mouth a little...

Kevin Na or Bubba. Those guys will wear any goofy logo.

But seriously, I’m down to fund Matthew, that’s a better idea.
