Any high spin/High launch guys playing the M4 D type cranked way down in loft? Curious how your results are

Debating grabbing a M4 D Type 9.5 head and throwing it into my Hzrdus black 75g and cranking the loft down.

The point of the dtype is to stop it from going right. If you crank the loft down you open the face

Yes i Know but I would assume the 12-20 yards of draw they claim you get from the heel weight will be more than opening the face up 1-3 degrees

FYSA, I have... had an M@ D-Type in a 9.5, worked great for awhile but then I developed a nasty hook I couldn't shake. Problem with the D-Type is if you OPEN the clubface 1*, you DECREASE the loft .75. So opening the loft back to a normal 'standard' (-2 on the D-Type) drops the loft to 8*, which murdered any height I wanted with it. Rolled out forever, but not always a great thing if you're catching tall grass. The D-Type will help you from hitting anything right, but it's a killer if you're TRYING to prevent it from going too far left.

Yes, didn't work out well for me. Almost not enough spin sometimes and not enough height. I have a flatter swing and had problems getting it up or preventing it from going too far left. May work for you, but my experience was no bueno.

Got my M4 driver and 5wood yesterday. We got the best on course real flight feedback with the Atmos Red 5S in the driver and the Atmos Red 6S FW in the 5wood. Could have gone with the Tensei Blue as they both bombed away with the med high trajectory I prefer. Can’t wait to get some more balls on these clubs. Really liking my choices thus far and that’s after really loving my Mizuno ST180 driver and fairway. Curious to get through a few more buckets and rounds to see who stays in the bag

I took a demo out to the course with my G400. I was able to tee up multiple balls and I found through the course of the round, my Hugh block miss was much worse with the M4.

Twist Face no Bueno for you it seems. Similar to the Shiels review

After a nice tame session and lesson with my swing pro, driver is so easy to hit well. The 5metal is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Long, straight and so easy to hit off the deck. It flew just about on pay distance wise as my ST1803metal set at 16* with a Fuji Speeder 661S Evo 2. Like the driver a lot but Love the 5metal to fill the gap between the M4 driver and my trusty Mizuno MP18 Fli Hi 3iron. Love the M4 series as great additions to my Mizuno irons.

Not sure how I feel about the m3 currently. I have a 3rd shaft coming today to test with it.

I am used to hitting right side fairway/rough with my rogue and epic. I am finding now all left side shots for last 3 rounds with the m3 (weights set middle of the long part of the track). around the 60% mark for left.

Head feels hollow and the distance hasnt really impressed me yet. I am finding a few more fairways with it though.

I was happy with my rogue but had the m3 head and want to like it more. hopefully the tensei white pro will wake it up for me.

I just picked up a 15* M4 fairway. Put it on the launch monitor and it was outperforming my current 13* 907f Titleist and blew the 917 and Callaway out of the water by ~12 yards on average (carry distance).

I can only speak for myself but I'm loving the new UST Mamiya Attas Cool shaft, looks like it a perfect match for the head plus it flat out performs even better than it looks.

Finally committed to a M4 9 degree with Tensei White Stiff for me.

It was a close call between M3 and M4 3W, but ultimately went with the M4 as well.

I’ve been playing with a G25 w S757, 105-106mph average SS. The M4 and Tensei white combo was not significantly greater or less dispersion than any other options (F8, F8+, G400, G400 LST, M3) for a high index like me. However, it had a high variability of swing speeds (maybe due to fatigue) 102-108.

Tensei white pro 70g really helped with my numbers. it put my carry numbers back in to the 270 range with 14 deg launch and 160's ball speed. hopefully it translate well from the gc2 to the course.

I still find I draw every shot though with it even with the weights into fade. Im guessing the more upright lie angle vs rogue/epic is the main reason. getting a good 20 yard draw from center consistently.

2 rounds under my belt with the M4 9.5 with a regular Fujikura Atmos. SS is in the mid 90’s. I hit 10/14 FWs and 11/14 FWs. I push sliced one OB and thinned one into a hazard. Other than those two mistakes(which were not equipment related) I was always in play in good position.

I have a smooth swing as my back will not let me swing hard and this driver had a small yardage improvement over my 2016 M2 10.5...but accuracy was noticeably improved.

Hoping that this is not a honeymoon phase. I’m playing Sand Valley and Mammoth Dunes in a week.

Has anyone hit the M3-4 hybrids? Looking for something to fill my new gap between my M4 5metal (carry ave. 235 total yards 250) and my Mizuno JPX900 HM 4iron (carry ave. 195 total yards 205.

I’m thinking that a 4 Hybrid 22* should fit the ticket but before I go and try a few wanted to see what you guys thought? Thanks

Today was the first round with the M4 driver and M3 3 wood. Driver is 10.5* with TS Atmos Blue 70S and Tensei Pro Blue 60S. Safe to say the Atmos performed better for me. The 3 wood has a Tensei Pro White 70S in it. Hit some good shots with it, but I think I am going to throw a TS Atmos Blue 80S in it when I find one.

I need more time with the 790 irons and MG wedges. Don't know if the TM bounces work for me on the wedges. Not giving up yet!

All in all, a decent day. Really like the feel of the TS Atmos Blue. Going to cut it down to 44.5".

Came away pretty impressed with the M4 Tour 3w and GD shaft. It never wanted to go left which is a good change from my old F6 3w and distance was still pretty good. I'll take the fairway over the rough even if its not as long but I think it was still out there.

And I regret getting rid of the M3 for the LST. The LST has been awful like the last time I tried but for some reason I didnt listen to myself. On the hunt for a M3 again.

I don't know about against the 2017 M1, but I came from a 2016 M1 10.5 to an M3 9.5 with the Synergy Shaft. At address the M3 looks very nice, more streamlined if that is possible. It launches higher, thus the lower loft on the M3. However with the M3 I have a much better trajectory, more penetrating with much more roll out. I have easily added an addition 5-10 yards. Twistface works for me on most shots. my miss is out to the toe, so toe balls with a closed face turn into findable draws that I can play from. What I don't like are toe balls with an open face. With that kind of swing I get a long high push fade that is usually trouble.

I am going back to the rogue sz. Not a fan of the M3 after 6 rounds with it. Performance was fine overall but prefer the feel of the Callaway more.

But I am taking the tensei pro white shaft from it over to the sz.

I didn't like the M3 either (440 head) but also really dislike the Rogue sz. Sold the M3 and the Rogue will be going as well.

My pro white is supposed to show up Saturday and I have a time set for 6:30 Sunday. I'm currently playing a Kuro Kage XT60 in my M3 and love it but hope to shave off a few RPMs.

I am thinking of an M4. I swing about 90 and was fitted for an EPIC in the diamana green. Do you reckon the stock shaft in the M4 would be most likely fit for me? Obviously doing a fitting would be best but interested to get views. I bought the 3 wood after trying it for a few range sessions and love it!
