I didn't particularly like that Everett's coach went up and stood on the spot where he was supposed to hit the layup so that Brock could get a yardage with the laser. OMG, that kind of thing needs to stop. I never got that kind of help in HS.

If the player can do that in the allotted time (often 40 to 50 seconds) permitted by the Conditions of Competition then have at it.

Damn, that was just impressive golf top to bottom. Bauchou was unreal, 29 on the front. How many putts did he have through 11, maybe 14? Hovland and Wolf just took leads and kept pressure on all day. That is a very talented golf team. I like that course.

I worked at Karsten Creek for nearly 12 years and was there for 2003 & 2011 Chanpionships (and handful of regionals). 2018 athletes in college golf decimated this place vs what they were doing only 7 years ago. Nearly all players 1-5 take agressive swings, play riskier shots & and are hitting irons where woods/hybrids were the play back then. Is the ball longer, sure, but it’s nominal...the athlete is so much better and improves each year at each program 1-5 in the lineup, and deep on the bench. Zoysia fairways definately help with iron play/purecontact, but holy hell....the past couple of days is eye-opening for the future of the game of golf at every level. The Driver/woods have take so much spin off the ball that curvature from the tee is negligible and way easier to keep the balls in play.

College aged men are still growing. Carrying a bag can do serious life long damage to the back and spine.

College aged men are still growing. Carrying a bag can do serious life long damage to the back and spine.

 

Maybe we should get you to speak to the school board. My 9 year old carries a 30lb or so backback plus lunch box to school everyday. The text boooks for a 4th grader rival what I used in high school.
