Anyone using a shaft that’s 4+ years old in a newer driver?

In my Epic SZ I have the Rogue Max 75x which I feel is a great shaft. In my old M2 I was playing a Kuro Kage TiNi Prototype shaft from 2013. Well I still have that shaft and am getting a Callaway adapter put on it to try it in my Epic SZ. I absolutely love that shaft and if the stars align in the new head it’s staying there. I constantly see people swapping shafts for the latest and greatest but is there that much improvement in shaft technology over the years to justify it? Is anyone else still playing an older shaft in a newer driver?

Ion plated ahina in an epic. Fubuki tour and o.g. whiteboard 73x in an m1 17. 915d4 has a o.g. 73x blueboard. My tensei pro white sits in the basement the numbers were no better and didnt care for the feel of it.

 

My gamer is a 7.5 tour issued 905r that I just reshafted with a motore speeder 6.0 tour spec x.

Fubuki J in my G400 LST. I've fallen victim to trying everything new in the last few years, but just something about this shaft that makes me feel comfortable standing over the ball. And it's finally sinking into my head that confidence is WAY more valuable than the extra 5% (distance/spin/etc) i might get from changing.

 

I bet if this question was asked about 3 woods, that's where the real old shafts lie

I found a new Pro Launch Red for under $5 and put it in my TEE EX10, and it is solid. Wanted to prove to myself that the inexpensive shaft and head hits it just as far as the new Rogue SZ I had earlier this spring.

I played a Red Tie from the Bio Cell line (6Q3?) in my driver up until I parted out my setup and sold it off the end of last year. I regret selling it every time I’m at the course.

Just put a Callaway adapter on a Fuji 757 that I used in my R1 and SLDR in the past. Love the GBB head but i wasnt a fan of the Diamana D+. Never got along with Mitsu shafts in my driver. Not sure why i keep trying them. Had it out a few times since the switch and it has been great so far.

Just pulled the pro force V2 tour flight out of my 2016 M2 and replaced it with Aldila VS 85X. The V2 went into my V-steel

I know a lot of guys that do the exact opposite. Older driver head, modern shaft tech. Great results I might add.
