I fight the same thing. Would appear you have too much face rotation caused by the hands. Your timing has to be dead on or you hit pushes or low pull hooks cause by flipping. Need to eliminate hands by using more arms and body (hips) to square the face up. For me personally, I need to feel like I'm swinging more left, which means swing path needs to be more outside on the downswing.

I was doing the same thing, pushes right or pulls left. Mostly pulls left. I had a lesson with my local pro and he had me weaken my right hand as it was too far under the club (rightly) and stand closer to the ball. It felt really weird for some time and still getting used to it but my ball striking and direction control is much much better now,
