SWING VIDEOS - Narrow and Steep Transistion, backswing inside

Any advice is appreciated. Club is moving inside going back. It seems to get across and then proceeds to get steep and narrow in the transition. What do you guys think? Thanks

Your DTL camera position makes the backswing look more inside, and transition more steep, than it is. Camera should be at waist height, so your waist will be even with the horizon on video.

 

Nice looking swing imo. A tad steep in transition but you’re in a decent spot by P6. Face on impact condition looks great. Divot pattern gives away your skill level. What’s your index?

+2 is my index. I would like to clean up my backswing. Is my right wrist breaking down? Why is it moving inside. I think I can clean up the backswing and the transition will be better

You're a +2 so you are doing a heck of a lot right and you should probably get advice from a pro. It does looks like the clubhead gets a little low and inside on the first part of the backswing so by the time your left arm is parallel to the ground (P3), the shaft is too flat which then may be why you get steep in transition. It might help to have a little wrist hinge earlier in the backswing where the clubhead stays more outside the hands. As golf is such a game of opposites, a little steeper clubhead going back would mean it would shallow more in transition. Think Ricky Fowler. Brady Riggs has some good videos on how to eliminate being steep in transition. Here's one.

Takeaway isn't an issue. It's not harming your swing.

 

Biggest issue I see is lack of right leg extension in the backswing. With that much right knee flex at the top of the swing, it's going to be difficult to get the left hip lower than the right hip in transition and shift enough pressure to your left foot.

 

Your arm width in transition narrows and shaft doesn't shallow out until late in the downswing as a result of not being able to shift the pressure to your front foot and rotate pelvis enough in transition.

Wall drill. Miss it going back, drag it coming down. Gripping club on opposite end so you don’t put a hole in the wall.

A slow motion vid would go a long way. I think you get more angle that Sergio. You must have very strong forearms. Ever have wrist issues?

Early extension...watch your front video in 1/4 time on YouTube...your left shoulder lifts up vs.rotate left on the down swing. That sends your club forward as can be seen in the DTL view. And when the left shoulder lifts, the left side lifts, causing all kinds of shots, thin, fat, even shanks. You should be exiting low left....all IMO.
