Fixing a divider inside my hoofer

So, last season, one of the cloth dividers detached from the bottom of the bag. Almost looks like it was held in place by two elastic bands. Anyhow, some I needed a new bag, I decided to get a cart bag. Riding more and more.

 

I'd like to fix this bag so I can use to tote my clubs to the range, or throw them on the back for a quick round. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it not worth the time and effort?

 

Mods: Wasnt sure if this belonged in the bag section since it is a DIY request? If so, I apologize, and would be grateful if you moved it to the correct forum

Pretty much out of luck. Most of these are built to never come apart or be serviced. You literally have to cut it apart to get down there

Check inside both big pockets. It seems like one of mine, either a hoofer or a 4 under, had a zipper on the very inside part of the bag down at the bottoms that allowed you to get a hand inside that area.

Ping is one that has that feature. Still, it would very hard to make a repair. Unless you are good at laparoscopic surgery.

I usually send it to a local luggage repair shop . Call around to see what your local shop will quote you ( most likely they'll want to see it, but they are the ones could fix anything )

 

We never had the club divider inside the bag in the old days, and yes, tangled clubs down the bottom will happen, but could be minimized if I put the golf clubs back properly.

You could go old school and use the plastic tubes in the bag to keep clubs from getting tangled. I had to use one in my C130 cart bag for the putter to keep the Super Stroke from getting the grip caught trying to remove it from the bag.

 

I'd be careful using the plastic tubes dividers on graphite shafts. When the bag is "pressed" into the plastic tubes, they become rougher/bit sharp on the inside and as the bag and clubs move around, they will end up scratching the paint surface of your graphite shaft (I have many as proof!).

I just realized that there is only one repair shop in town. They are not a treat to deal with. Turn around time is long and they lack organization. My wife brought some shoes there. They called her to let her know they are ready. When she showed up, they couldn't find them. Took another week or so before they tracked them down. To top it off, they hadn't even worked on them yet.

You could still check with the only luggage repair shop for price , they are the only one I know might have the tools or the know how to get to the bottom of the bag.

If the bag does not have structural inner linings for wall , you might be able to open the soft lining from a pocket or other spot to access the bottom of the bag.

I'll take a closer look when I get home. I know it has the zipper to access the bottom as I had to get stuff out of it before. You are right, it is worth at least getting a price.
