Your favorite divot to play out of

I can think of 3 types of divots to end up in.

The replaced grass divot

The sand filled divot

The bare divot

 

The sand filled is probably my favorite as long as there is enough sand to have the ball about the same height as the ground around it.

 

The bare divot is OK if the ball rolls to the front. Not so much if it falls in the back.

 

Never fell comfortable when my ball is on top of a replaced grass divot..Don't know why..

We don’t play out of divots. We have a ‘lift, clean & throw’ rule in effect in all weather conditions. It is, after all, called a ‘fairway’. (Now that I think about it, I can’t ever recall landing in a divot off the fairway.)

It’s quite the fait accompli to hit it short and still reach the rough.

Replaced grass...it is just like a fairway lie!!

I think it depends on where in the divot your ball lies.

 

A ball in the front of a bare divot will come out pretty easily and predictably whereas a ball in the back or middle of a bare divot can be a real challenge.

 

If I had to play from a divot, it would be a sand filled divot.

 

Balls on freshly replaced divots make me queasy.
