Ping I210 irons & Glide forged wedge

GolfWRX

Recommended Posts

If they sound anywhere near like the G700s I don't think they will be a big seller. Absolutely the worst sounding and feeling iron Ping has ever produced. A couple of former owners described the sound as a cheap sounding clink. While they loved the distance they couldn't tolerate the sound and feel of the iron. Both went back to iBlades with power spec loft..

i couldnt say, the g700s sell like crazy though. very popular.

Look nice, but I'm honestly curious where people are getting the i200s for $85/club :D

that makes two of us..

I ordered mine on May 22 and expected they would be $699 for 7 clubs, but when I got to the store I was told they just dropped another $100 either that day or the day before, so $599. This was at Fairway Golf in San Diego.

When?

July-Sept not a peep on ordering or prices. Be sitting down for prices on forged clubs

Wedges to retail at $199 per club.

Seems very steep, think they'll actually be $200?

Don't know of many of us account holders who are going to risk our account status by selling below what PING says retail price is. Lol. So, as Kenny Lee said, "Yes". $199 will be the price.

That's not what I meant. What I was getting at is that sometimes you hear prior to release that a club will retail for X but when it hits the shelves it actually retails for less. Was wondering if that may be the case as I don't see many buyers of these at that price.

I’m going to be honest...

I DONT CARE ABOUT ANY OF THIS. SHOW US i500.

Actually the wedges are cool and I’d like to be friends with those, but still, mostly just want to see i500.

Hello,

do you have seen under the wedge number, the color is different, look like tungsten insert in the toe (?)

Yes there is tungsten in toe for added stability.

The wedges appear to have the hydropearl finish, the irons a more a traditional Ping one.

Ping I210 irons & Glide forged wedge

Just posting this here for those that can’t read the title of the thread.

I read it. Why would that change my post about wanting to see i500? GolfWRX is the OP, I’m telling them I want to see i500, which is being released alongside i210.

Reading: works well with comprehension.

Not taking away from wanting to see the pics but when i held both i210 and i500 7 irons size, shape, and offset looked very similar. The only thing that is different from the cavity pic is the oval covering the i500 stamp.

Will there be a price drop coming on the Glide 2.0 series, or is the Glide forged a concurrent release?

I tried a set but couldn’t stand the huge sole, offset, and sound. Traded them in on some wedges. Had them 3 weeks and the finish looked like every shot was from a sand trap. Thankfully I kept my S55s whose 2+ year old finish looked brand new compared to the G700s. Hopefully the i500 and i210 won’t be hydropearl. Rep. said it is s new finish so fingers crossed..

Nice looking clubs but something I don't understand...

Ping doesn't offer a Forged iron correct? Even their iBlade is cast but maybe I'm wrong. Even though so many blade and iron purists love the feel of premium forging.

However, they release Forged wedges that many manufacturers don't even bother with because it doesn't make much difference.

Just seems odd to me...

In reality, premium forged iron sales is a very, very small part the golfing world. I agree that Ping coming out with forged wedges took me by surprise.

They should have just cast this wedge and sold it for $50 cheaper. Seems much smarter to me.

With the wedge, they are at least addin their take on a forged wedge by adding some tech w tungsten in the toe. It is sthg different anyway to other major manufacturers.

One curiosity tho, Ping has in the past been able to adjust swingwieght w the tuning port, doesn’t look like that method will be an option w new wedges.

I believe the forged irons are coming later in the year.
