My swing and untapped potential... Reading / Watching Monte

Fellow WRXers,

 

Can I say that on my very first post? Anyhow, longtime lurker, first time poster (other than giveaways). I've been inspired by all of the users posting videos and discussing issues and swing faults, so I thought I'd give it a go. I feel like I should hit the ball further than I do (don't we all?) and after reading up on Monte's teaching and watching his videos, I think I have the early cast issue and it's being exaggerated by me standing up right before impact. Has anyone had luck with Monte's No Turn Cast drill? Anyone else trying to fight standing up at impact? I appreciate any and all feedback and have some thick skin so tell me the bad, worse, and ugly!

 

On a side note, I was rather hesitant to start another post like this, but didn't want to hi-jack anyone's thread. If I went about any of this the wrong way, let me know!

Down the line would tell a lot more, but head at impact is well forward compared to address.

 

Partly address, partly backswing are creating issues.

I’ll do my best to get a DTL video and update here. Any plans on bringing a clinic to Eastern NC? I know you don’t have anything on your calendar, but if you’re ever within driving distance I’ll be at your clinic! Thanks for all you do for the community here and the time you take to reply to your followers!!

Try the turn only no-cast drill.

 

Leave the arms alone (don't pull on the handle) and try to rotate to impact instead of swinging the arms and clubhead at the ball.
